Today I attempted to do my charger damper upgrade but after stripping down my forks I discovered one of the foam rings was broken, I was surprised as I’d only done a lower leg service a few months ago oh well I thought, it is what it is so I got on google to find some bike shops in the Sheffield area but oh dear I didn’t realise that I was doomed to failure, I phoned no less than ten shops in and around the Sheffield area and not one of them sold foam rings for the Lyrik, I know it’s my own fault and I should have bought some before I started but I genuinely thought the existing ones would be fine, anyway I think it’s a poor show that even the BIG bike shops haven’t got some as basic as foam rings or even a service kit for one of the most common forks around.
Needless to say that eBay came to the rescue again, the only fly in the ointment is that it won’t arrive until the 18th of this month.

I think the same goes for a 2.6 tire and a basic chain to be honest, god help you if you need a serviceable item like your foam ring  . I doubt you can even buy fork oil .
Its not a covid issue, i think its just a general state of our bike shops .

I totally agree mak, shops want business so why not stock the things that people want instead of things that are a cert to be sat on a shelf gathering dust, ok I can understand why the smaller shops wouldn’t stock stuff like service parts but shops like the biggest three shops in Sheffield not selling them is a very poor show in my opinion
