There's a small battery in your switch that has gone bad. If the bike sits for a long time between rides, the battery can't hold a charge. If you take it on a ride, it might recharge to the point that the switch is once again usable. I don't think the battery is user replaceable, but I could be mistaken.

I rode all winter as long as above 20 degrees. I can turn bike off with remote switch which and there is only 1 wire so that doesn’t quite make sense, I do have another switch on the way so we will see

When your bike is turned off, the big battery is completely turned off from the rest of the system. But you need SOME source of power to run the circuit that will turn on the big battery. That's where the little battery on your switch comes in. It's always there, ready for when you push the switch. Once the bike is turned on and the big battery joins the circuit, the little battery is recharged. As the little battery degrades, it doesn't hold a charge for very long. If the bike sits, it goes dead, and you can't turn the bike on.

Ok so managed to get that evil little battery charged question now live in Minnesota that bike’s gonna sit most of the winter. How do you keep the battery charged if I take the bike battery out and plugged the charger into the bike does that keep that evil little battery charged?
