I totally agree, but for gravel / fireroad stuff it would be fine - and that's all a lot of so called eMTB'ers ride on.

Mine would also do that occasionally. I ended up filing the large "spacer" ring to roughen it up so the mechanism gripped more tightly, that seemed to do it - and setting tighter in combination.
Heck, I would have thought you would have just removed the front brake hose - only slows you down really.
By me too! and they forgot to oil the disc things!! They squeaked sometimes.I had loads of trouble with that at the start, they'd filled the tube with lubricant and forgotten to put the cable in ... Muppets
