Looks like there's a new player in the lightweight game, on paper very impressive

Also a Spanish brand like Orbea, I worked as a rep with them for a little bit was hard work as no one had heard of them in the U.K. 6yrs ago, their customer service a bit slow, I know been working on ebike for few years but would have to send stuff back to Spain for warranty! There geometry is finally more up to date used to be behind the times geometry wise like Santa Cruz etc

My first mtb bike with front susp was an BH... more than 30 years ago ... So some personal affection for this brand. A spanish historic brand with road races background and more than 100 years history.

Yes whilst relatively low profile in the UK they are a very well established brand with a lot of history, well represented in the pro road racing teams, and not some bit part player. They have also been in the ebike and EMTB market for quite a while now, with some, ahem, "interesting" designs of bike. Certainly not a company afraid to go out on a tangent in terms of trying new ideas.

Bike looks amazing for that weight and 500wh inbuilt.

i've not tried a lower powered motor but I bet that's brilliant to ride. Lighter (just), c40% more WH and 5 more Nm than the rise. Impressive on paper indeed.

edit - its 540wh not 500wh. wow 50% on the Rise.

Theres a very slick page on their website:

bike has a built in tool system within the headtube, similar to One Up EDC. really like how there a minimal control with Garmin integration, as thats my preferred control set up.

the bike on the pic has 720Wh. 540Wh plus 180Wh extender (bottle).you cant remove the internal battery (only for service), so the battery has less weight and a smaller size

16 kgs with a 540wh battery? Seems a bit optimistic, toy specs i guess and even with that i doubt it. See the post above. And the motor, on their road ebikes lot of problems, and I mean a lot. Do things well or dont made it. Seems they are on kinda v.3 of the motor to fix so go figure.

Sorry this shadow ban keeps me writing post since took me hours to login or edit

The other Spaniard lightweight, the Orbea Rise, has been a bit bluff. At this point I think light ebikes are more a trend than a real alternative. At the end power and range are kings that’s why you buy and ebike. The GLP2 or whyte concept among extenders is the way to go.
