I've used 75mm duct tape from Screwfix for the last 3 pairs of wheels I've converted; 4 Mulefuts and a pair of DT2250s. They've all worked faultlessly, took my time to roughen the inner faces and carefully applied the tape.
My LBS swears by Gorilla tape. Two wraps of that and you are good to go!
It comes in various widths and colours. My favourite is the black woven finish that looks very like carbon fibre when applied. OK, nobody else can see it, but I know it's there!
