E-bikes made it onto the BBC Homepage today. Now that's mainstream.
A good article and something I'm sure we'll all agree with.

Actually watched a few videos of Tom Cardys girlfriend learning to mountain bike , it was quite refreshing watching someone bricking it over small jumps and her progression ,could have been any bike but they both got the e-bike and the stuff he can pull of is great.

Yep it's not going to be the special few who know who has an e-bike , now the world knows

Why?

Basic economics, dictate supply and demand. Do you view Specialized, as more of a 'premium' brand?. Is it really, all about the badge or a label? In a world full of choice, whether that be aesthetically, or one made purely on cost, we all have options, to enable us to get out and ride.

What price do you put on improved, personal mental health and wellness?

I just came back from the Amalfi Coast and I would say at 80% of the people I saw there where on E-Bikes, and there are a lot of bikes out there. Most of them where on supermarket/intersport/amazon specials, not high end bikes.

A good illustration of how inept reporting on other matters by the BBC is! An article on E bikes...yet a focus on EMTBS which are at the premium end whereas the mass market is the lower end shopping bikes...at the same time using Halfords as the main source for information! There is of course little excitement drama or personal life crisis drama to report in users of E shopping bikes. So the info largely relates to Halfords low end market and the articles to the elite Emtb end of the market, and an opportunity for an informative article is totally lost.

Too true. The most important things is that more and more people are getting out and exercising in one way or another.
