Battery removal hack

[The EMF]

I used this simple hack to remove the battery from the downtube when the bike is turned upside down on the bars. The set screws shown in pics are the extended length screws used to attach the socket front to a plastic cavity wall backbox
They screw directly into the brass blind screw holes and enable you to get a good hold so as to remove and install the battery......simple. The thread is M3.5.

You could drill a couple of holes in a piece bar to form a handle of sorts then you get even more support when removing or installing the battery ?

I don't have a Whyte, but that looks like a great idea.
I wonder what the bike mechanics use?

I have seen car mechanics use something very similar to pull radios from the dashboard.

It appears that a few Whyte owners have had difficulty with battery removal...... I’ve never had a problem.

Nice idea, how do you protect the Purion Unit ? Just loosen and move or do you have another method ?

Used your pipe lagging hack ???, may just loosen the screw and rotate it out the way next time though !

Excellent hack a couple of nuts, and some plate and you can make a very handy - handle!

I store my bike (E150RS) upright with a hook system for the front wheel. This places the down tube at the perfect angle for the battery to just slide out and is also really easy to put back in as everything is at waist height. The screw idea is a great hack - cheers!

I use 2 auto round terminal tags crimped onto a small length of wire. It just folds back inside .
