Morning all, I have signed up to the BHF London to Brighton run later in the year. Was looking at possibly either hiring if I can find somewhere, or purchasing another battery for my rail 5. Another option was to also purchase the mrs a bike with the same battery ?? although I could do with out the massive cost. What do you guys suggest?

Do you have the 500wh battery in yours, my friends rail 7 has a 625 battery, I read that you can buy them from trek but will also need a new battery cover

Yes mine is just the 500.. I haven’t really looked into it in depth tbh I would have thought 625 was externally the same?

The 625 is longer than the 500. The bikes set up for the 625 can take a 500 (the battery gets a small plastic extension cap). But it's not guaranteed that a 500 bike can take a 625.

Stop at a Costa coffee. Read paper, have lunch, charge battery. Plug sockets at nearly every table ?

The Rail 5 is the same frame as all the other Rails so a 625 will fit no problem.

The easiest way to do it would be a battery complete with battery cover panel, but that's going to be hard to source unless you can get a friendly dealer to lend you one off a demo bike.
You could try hitting up Trek UK too.
