Battery advice

Hi,

I’m new to the whole e-bike thing and looking for a bit of advice. Recently ordered a Scott Strike e940 and was looking to upgrade the 500wh battery (bosch power tube) to a 625 a little later on.

Reading some of the Scott text on their site it makes it sound like it’s just a case taking the current one out and putting the larger one it. But the guy in the shop says you can’t do it. Get the feeling he’s just trying to upswell me to the range extender/booster option.

- if I bought a 625 battery, does it need to be the horizontal or vertical model?

- do I need to buy some sort of fixing or cover for it or would just fit into the current one on the bike?

Any help would be great

Thanks
Lee

The 625 is longer than the 500. So there's a chance it won't fit in the frame.
Thanks mate, that’s what the dealer told me but Scott customer services told me it will fit / it’s interchangeable and that I’d only need to take the cover off the 500 and place it onto the 625

Has your battery got an extension screwed on to the top of it? If so then the bike is 625 ready.

Not sure yet mate. Still waiting for it to arrive. I’m just doing a bit of work before it does so I have some idea when it’s comes to possible upgrading it. If I needed to.

Will check when I have it though. Thanks for the help.
