Base level and build or Expert?

I am new to EMTBiking, and trying to decide if I should build from base model up or just go balls out and get an expert. Any input and reasoning would be most appreciative.

Do you need/want the bigger battery?
Is carbon important to you?

Once you've answered those it's easy. I've got a spreadsheet listing mods, prices, weights etc if you build up from a base model. I'll post it later when I get computer time.

Thanks for replying, the battery is important, not sure about the carbon. I rode both bikes and I have to say the expert felt great.

Well the battery is about £1000/€. That would leave £2 difference. If you could afford it and happy with the expert spec, I'd get the expert.

I couldn't help it, the ride just seemed so much better, so I mortgaged my soul and went the expert route. Thanks for the input though

The expert was the best colour too imo. Ah, so what your sold your soul. It'll be worth it I'd of sold another kidney, but I'd sold one to get my sb5.5, then the primer and my liver is fucked and not worth a Boardman
