My experiency of bafang failure repair. I'm not going to tell all the history, too long and conditions have changed since the begening. I will speak only of the last procedure.

If you have an failure with the bafang motor the first step is to check visualy the conectors and the wiring: No damaged contact ? all connectors well pressed ?
After you can check if the power supply arrive correctly on the motor connector: +-51Vdc when the power switch on frame is pressed, +-45 Vdc when it is unpressed

If all these point is well and the display do not light up when you maintain pressed several seconds (+- 5) the power switch on the remote, you can init an bafang after sale request.
You need to ask to the motor supplier they initiate an repair request to bafang. they will transmit you an formulary "Warranty Request Bafang Blank 2021;xls" with the adress of the bafang ervice center most near your country. you fill it, return it to the bafang after sale service and you sent your motor or the electronic parts if you have competencies to dismantel (the controler, the motor connectors printed circuit, the wirings (internal frame cable, dispaly, remote).

At this time i did not find where i can purchase spare parts for M500. luna in US seem to store for M600, but shipping cost/administrative fees/taxs are very expensive to the europe.

Bafang do not make any difficult to applied the waranty, but they do not want to treat with the customer, they wait that the supplier perform the request.
It was difficult with dengfu, for who the word "warranty" seem to block the answers ? But it seem they have evoluate on this subject. May be it is better to request only "bafang repair procedure" and don't mention the bad word, In any case it is bafang who decide if the failure is under warranty or not.

Personally, my electronics parts are currently in transit to the bafang service center in poland.

Interesting and useful information. I am seriously interested in buying frame, battery and a M500 from Dengfu, but hesitate because of their arrogance. They respond pretty quickly to questions but do not make any efforts to help you out with info if they don't have thatinfo easily available. What shall I think of a dealer how don't know, but more seriously cannot find, information about they weight of a carbon frame I am interested in and cannot supply a standard Bafang chainring to a motor kit I want to buy?

Pelle

Dengfu is a frame builder, they provide motor in exact state that bafang furnish to their. no more. If you find another quality frame builder who accept to sale unit frame with motor and battery, share it, personally i didn't find.

About my problems. i have received the spare M600 monday and the controler from poland tuesday. curently i test the M600. Bafang haven('t find problem on my controler, but they have accepted to perform standard exchange.

Dengfu have informed me that controller unit price is 200 USD. Taking account of complete motor price and that nobody store controller, that confirm the best way is to store complete spare motor to avoid long imobilization during waranties procédure steps

Have you guys reached out to GBK?
This is one of the many suppliers I use for my bafang requirements.

Whilst their website shows some of their inventory, they do sell other bits as well.

As for the warranty side of Bafang, my understanding is Bafang don't offer warranty as their motors are usually repairable.
Granted, I can imagine that very few people relish in the thought of cracking open a motor. But surprisingly, I have yet to have stumbled on a bafang motor which wasn't difficult to work on (this shouldn't be misinterpreted as they brake easily). Moreso, its disappointing that other manufacturers don't follow the example of allowing home mechanics to service/repair motors when required. Afterall, it's not like I go to my LBS for a lower leg service or a BB overhaul.

Anywho, try GBK. 9/10 the real culprit is having replacement parts. Believe, the moment lockdown was hinted at last year, I placed the biggest order for spare components which arrived quite quickly.

Upon reflection, maybe I went abit OTT as I've yet to replace any internal gears in any of my emtb's which use either the M400 or, M620.

Hope this helps ?
