Bafang 820 limp mode

Hi

The Bafang 820 goes into limp mode at 20% battery charge. Given the 410wh battery that means every outing you hit that 20%.

Officially (according to Bafang) there is no way to turn that off, but is there a hack?

Or a way to turn it back to 5% or something else?

Other solutions?

I think I've read on here of motors going into limp mode in order to be sure that there's enough battery left for lights. It might be possible to turn off this 'feature'.

Sounds like a hack for one of those people that know how

i use the m510 and after 30% it gets less power but to call that limp mode would be an overstatement.

yes it less power but still usable power on the higher levels to get home

Yeah my thing is with a 410w battery you’ll get to 20% after a couple of hours hard riding. That’s literally 1/5th of your ride time at reduced power, on a low power motor.
