Assist level selection?

I am not sure if it has a name but my 2020 Giant Stance E + came with a minimalist display.
I like that, i never look at it and just ride like my other bikes.
It has 5 lights to show the energy level available in the battery.
It also has 5 lights to show the assist level.
I almost always ride alone so most of the time i use 3 lights wich i call medium or intermediate level.
I just use my 10S transmission and pressure on the pedals according to terrain.
It gives me enough range and enough exercise to stay in shape.
Occasionally i ride in the morning, eat home and recharge for an hour and ride again.

Do you switch often your assist level?
What advantage am i missing the way i use it?

I have a 2020 giant reign. When I bought it I was told about emtb mode and thought “I doubt I’ll use that”.
I find emtb mode great and barely change out of it!

I have all the levels set to the medium assistance via the app, and mainly use 2-4 during a ride, using the lower levels to save battery, although I neednt worry, as I usually have at least 30% left at the end of a ride.

As above, I don't like the way auto mode delivers the power

Spend most of my time in Eco (1 light), will go into Eco+ (2 lights) for climbs, to go 3 or above i'm either hitting stuff that is steep enough to have me over the front to keep it down, or my legs have gone.

Only reason i do this is i'm either out with mixed groups, so no need to use much assistance, or keeping some strain on my legs as i like to switch between the ebike and normal one, and after a few rides ebiking it can be a shock going back to a normal bike!

I'm not a fan of the emtb mode (that mode is selected automatically when you power on your bike).
Depending on the ride and what my goal is, I use eco (1) for cardio training on easy terrain, sometimes eco+ (2) for steep hils.
I use 3 & 4 on technical trails, have tried level 5 on very few occasions since I own the bike 1½ years.
I find down-shifting one or two gears somewhat equivalent to going up one level on battery power when tackling a steep hill, the latter allowing to keep going faster.

I used the app and tuned all the levels to their max setting. Then I ride in L2 or L3 pretty much everywhere. I only ever go to L5 for short pinch climbs.

I do not have a phone so i am curious by default what % is each level?
I feel like the lowest is for emergency only, just to keep the battery alive if we need more range.
