Yes agreed! I think they are ‘overpriced’ for what they are parts wise as any eBike. However, the sheer fun and passion they install makes them that value IMHO..

Spesh have always commanded a premium. I think this round of pricing was approaching the tipping point for many. But still they are sold out..! The next iteration/evolution of the Levo is going to be an Intersting offering and price that’s for sure.

The only dealership I’ve dealt with that wouldn’t budge a penny on price we’re Porsche and Spesh are kind of in that bracket with that kind of customer..

Specialized were getting peeved from all accounts and that their product was being discounted heavily and devalued..Still I think what people are paying with discount is still high for the components specced.

You've bought Porsche and think Specialized bad ?

Wow !;)

So some ( I include myself) will pay 40% more for a Porsche (re-badged Audi ) itself a VW without the bad heritage -- who would believe it ?

I think you'll find that in the real world Porsche are less reliable than VW/Audi by far.;)

The centre asked for proof of purchase and I think they are going to bill Specialized directly, so that will be the best outcome for me.

In any case, Rutland say (in writing) they will reimburse me if there are any labour charges that I have to pay to get the bike back.

This seems really fair and flexible.

I'm assuming everything will go well, if not I'll be back here with an update.
Really since Specialized are market leaders by a long, long way & a lot of value is placed on excellent warranties & high level dealer service, it should be covered wherever in the world you find yourself with whatever valid issue, no matter where you bought it, without charge by any Specialized dealer.
Of course! I shouldn't have doubted sorry Spesh! Kenevo & me have been through some serious rough treatment but still no need for my warranty & I think likely I never will. Bit more than 12 months remaining. Logic would say, flog the hell out of the bike before the warranty expires. I have.

I'm planning to purchase a levo comp today from an online store in another country as my local Specialized dealer doesn't have stock until late December.

I'm wondering what will happen if I have any major motor issues etc during the warranty period and whether my LBS will be obligated to deal with them or they will likely tell me to send it back to the company I purchased it from? Its difficult to get this information directly as I don't (yet) speak the local language.
For piece of mind I would play the long game, using your LBS is about building relationships and supporting a local business, I think it more prudent for you to ask your LBS the question you are asking here rather than rock up 6 months down the line with an issue on your bike and just expect your LBS to drop everything and get their magic wand out, as others have said, a faulty part may well be covered under warranty but their time and labour is not.
