Hi,

I think Im going to replace the RS 35 Gold that came with my Levo. Yesterday I ran my first long downhill and found the fork kind of harsh and thought the handling was surprisingly twitchy. I'm not sure if this is from the fork itself or the geometry. One way to get better downhill stability from what I read is to go with a shorter offset.

Not sure if the handling is due to the fork, or geometry. Would love to hear from others that have replaced this fork, or those that have gone from 51 OS to 42 OS. Thanks!

so I've got both as i have 2 sets of lyrics , and ive tried them back to back , i personally find the 51 more natural on the levo . The 42 is ok and yes downhill it feels more stable and the front wonders less on steep climbs , but u have to work the bike harder on tight turns etc . the steering generally feels sharper /responds quicker but that can be a problem if u make a mistake . the 51 feels slacker , i will refit my 51 once they back from service .

Awesome -Thanks so much! One thing you say, I don't understand. How can the 42 feel more stable at speed yet the 51 feel slacker?

I much prefer the lower offset fork. I found the 51 twitchy and initial turn in was too sharp which didn't feel very confidence inspiring. With the 42mm offset I get a more planted feeling and much less of a tendency to go into unwanted understeer on corner entry.
