Love this combo on my “normal” bike, looking forward to mount them on my 2020, I am afraid they will run wider/taller than the OE Butcher/Eliminators and better stick with 2.5 DHF /2.4 DHRII.
Do I need EXO or EXO+ on an eBike? Thanks in advance.

I have 27.5's - 2.6 DHF EXO+ & Assegai 2.5 EXO+ rear with CushCore.

It really depends on your style & terrain. EXO+ or DD for where I ride although I haven't tried DD yet - they're ~ 200 grams heavier than the EXO+. These describe the different casings.

eBike tires are designed to meet European ECE-R75 standards, guaranteeing performance and reliability for the additional cargo capacity and increased speeds electric bikes can offer.

exo-protection.jpg

An extremely cut-resistant and abrasion-resistant material added to the sidewalls of select mountain tires. This densely woven fabric is also lightweight and highly flexible, ensuring that the performance of the tire remains unaffected. Choose EXO Protection for exceptionally rocky, treacherous trails where the chance of sidewall cuts and abrasions is high.

Our EXO+ construction combines two of our best puncture protection materials: SilkShield and EXO. The SilkShield layer runs from bead-to-bead with a layer of EXO along the sidewalls. Combined, these two materials create EXO+ which improves tread puncture protection by 27%; sidewall durability by 51%; and resistance to pinch flats by 28%.

DoubleDown (DD) is the next step in the evolution of the dual-ply tire casing for enduro racing. Two 120 TPI casing layers reinforced with a butyl insert provide the enduro racer with the support and protection of a downhill tire, but in a lighter package.

Not an answer, I like the 2.5 Assegai so much on my Levo that I’m putting a set on my 2020 Stumpjumper. Height and width not an issue.

I can't comment on the casing but I have both on my Levo, the Assegai is better in all conditions compared to the DHF which was a step above a Butcher.

2.5 DHF WT Front and 2.6 DHR II WT Rear fit the same as stock tires on 2020 levo, which is to say fairly snug in the rear -About 8 mm gap to the frame in the center of the tire tread-to the point where I had to make a custom cut out of the larger front mudhugger fender that I mount in the rear to recess it and not crimp the small space that was left any more.. Best tires for my conditions.
