Anyone replace the SD50 cable with an SD300?

Has anyone added an SC-EM800 to a Rise that came shipped with the EW-EN100? I know there's an adapter in the downtube, but it's not clear to me if:

a) The SD300 cable that connects from the adapter to the motor is long enough
b) How to access it and pull the SD300 cable out

Or do you need to replace the SD300 cable altogether with a longer one?

I actually have it all working now with another adapter and a short SD300 cable (and I added the SW-EM800-L switch and cable), but I'd like to clean up/simplify it.

Give us the details on how you did it. I might like to add the EM800 too. Did the EM800 come with the cable and connectors necessary? Where did you access the connection?

No, the EM800 didn't come with any cables. I ended up buying the SC-EM800, two SD300 cables (a 150mm and a 350mm), a SW-EM800-L mode switch (note that the new switch does not have a cable built in, unlike the previous ones), and an EW-AD305 adapter.

I attached the EW-AD305 to the wire coming from the motor (the wire that comes out of the headtube area), then I attached the 150mm SD300 to the adapter and to a port on the SC-EM800. I then mounted up the new switch and ran a 350mm SD300 wire from the switch to a port on the SC-EM800. It "just worked".

It seems like a hack because there's another hidden EW-AD305 adapter inside the downtube that switches the SD300 to a SD50, and ideally I could just eliminate both adapters and go right into the SC-EM800. But as is, it works well.

Hope that helps.

Adapter from sd300 to sd50 is in downtube just next from entrance from frame under headseat. Cable is long enough, but its a real bummer to get it out through hole, u have to take off fork so u have access to the hole...u only need a cable 350mm or myb 450mm from switch to sc-em800. But this project is total nonsense and throwing away of money if u have garmin device. Orbea app work fine.
