I’m fortunate to live in the North East of Scotland and the glens, forests and mountains are on my doorstep. But unfortunately some estate owners deliberately padlock gates on designated through paths. I encountered one last weekend about 5/6ft high and it was a nightmare getting a 24/25kg Ebike over it! Any tips or advice on harnesses etc to help negotiate gates etc would be welcome.

I put my bike over gates sideways, then slide it over so that the pedal rests on the top bar.
That way you can then reposition yourself to drop it down the other side.

check the hinge side.....many gates are merely hung on pin type brackets and if not welded you can just lift that end off the gate off those hinges and swing the gate open enough to get through.
