What a ball ache. It was great ordering from these before brexit.
Under £ 125.00 its 5 days to your door, I'm pretty sure they have set up a UK VAT scheme now so all the VAT should have been prepaid, but do check. As to customs charges, you sometimes get stung and other times not, from other suppliers it normally has to be over a grand or so before the customs agents get involved.

The upside to all of this, the 20% VAT paid goes into our UK tax payers coffers and helps pay for Boris's lunch, pays for all the Covid mismanagement and hopefully pays part of the Ukranian war effort, rather than giving the German taxpayers 19% as a bonus.

Yeah it's the great unknown as how much you end up paying. Some other European suppliers simply stopped shipping to the UK which was a pain.
Good to know though I can start using these guys again👍🏻

If you look at their site checkout page, it states, tax free. So is the likelihood, plus 20% UK vat & customs fees to be added to the original sale price, or is there an additional German tax to be paid also, on an order above £125.00. My total should I continue with this order is approx, £325 ..

Not sure about that as it would be in their interest to have set up a U.K. VAT registration, for a company this size, it’s a relatively painless experience and you get to continue to sell into the 6 th largest market in the world.

If you want to really get cheaper parts then AliExpress is your friend, about 10 days from China and most companies on there shipping to the U.K. are already VAT set up. I’ve had some real bargains of late including branded items, I’m not sure the old knock off clone of old China is still the case and more based on old memories and myth.

Unfortunately what I'm after doesn't appear to be cheaper on Ali.. B-D are by far the cheapest however if it's going to cost me another £100 on top of their purchase price, then I'd rather support those in this country (with less agro), because that's roughly the difference in the prices.. I've emailed B-D direct to see if they can shed some light on my order before I checkout with them and get my fingers burnt with a not so, 'bargain' .. :p

I've ordered from the EU a couple of times in the last year, including once from B-D . Both times it's ended up adding about 30% (Can't remember precisely) to the total cost by the time it's delivered. For me it's not worth it.

Thanks @Growmac .. 30% on the price puts me in the same cost bracket as buying in the UK. Without the added worry of a delayed delivery.. Luckily i'm in no rush for said item however it's good to get a feel for what the overall costs would be .. I'll see if B-D reply before i disappoint them ..

Tbh I’ve given up trying to ship stuff in from Europe now due to the chaos at customs, things being lost or delayed and maybe an additional billmaybe not.

I go to France/Europe quite regularly so save up any ordering I need to do till then, have it shipped to wherever I’m staying in Europe and then bung it in the van/car for the journey home.

Might not work for urgent deliveries or if you dont plan to visit Europe but saves me the headache of importing to the UK.

Ironically.buy something from China or Taiwan direct, it comes within a week and no import duties to pay (at least not so far). Wtf is that all about…

I also ordered from them quite recently and the delivery to Sweden was fast.

took only a few hours before I received an email that the package was on its way.

OrderEd many times from them but in Northern Ireland so we get away with the additional hassle of courier claiming vat etc, never had an issue until today. Made 2 new orders this week but received a rather curt email requesting unpaid tax/vat from 2021 on previous orders. Thought it was a scam at first but transpires it is legit, they wouldn’t clarify why or how this happened so I refused to pay as my invoices all had vat included on the total. They wouldn’t post the new orders until the additional money was paid so I requested my money to be refunded which it was. Now my account is locked and they will not as yet clarify why or how this came about. Liked them up until now.
