Anticlockwise crank noise

Hi there,

I've an issue when I move the cranks in anticlockwise.
Exactly like this:

Dropbox - IMG_0926.MOV - Simplify your life

In forward, all work fine wihout any noise. I also tried to remove the chain and it work properly.

Any advice?

Something is absolutely not right, it could sound a little like the crank arm is grinding up against the spider. It could also be the big needle bearing gone south. Off to the dealer I would say.

The problem is I'm in holiday in these days, hundred miles from seller. I would to ride on the bike quietly and I don't know what to do.

Try to first take drive side crankarm off and see if noice goes away. If not try the same with non drive side. If it is crank arms touching covers/spider there must also be scratch marks. If noice doesn’t go away it’s an internal issue and you will need a new motor on warranty.

The crank arm are free and I don't see any scratches.
If I try to remove the chain and move forward the crown, it work fine without any noise as usual. Only if I move the crank anticlockwise I can listen these noise.

It does indicate an internal issue and a trip to where you bought the bike unfortunately.

Not good. It could be the sprag clutch has partially disintegrated. I fear that that is a new drive unit one way or another.

In "normal mode" doesn't have any issue.. No noise, straightforward, same assistance as usual.

Is there any possibilities to have some little stone inside in ?

If you take off the chain and pedal backwards will the chainring stay still?

It could be that there is sitting a small stone between the outer flange that the spider sits on and the crank axle. There is almost 1 mm of space between the two parts. If you take off the crank and the spider fastener(you need a special tool) you can clean up the space with a small plastic strip. I normally fill up the space with grease to prevent water and dirt to get into the needle bearing behind.
