Greetings! Just getting into the pedal-assist groove. Picked up a Specialized Turbo Levo Comp Carbon in Dec. ‘17 to complement my “acoustic” Stumpy 6Fattie/29er.

I’m finding it especially nice to have electronic boost on long sandy rides in the desert. Here’s yours truly riding down Borrego Mountain Wash heading over to the Hills of the Moon area in Anza Borrego Desert State Park in So. Calif.:

Hahaha! Haven't seen any rattlesnakes yet in the desert, but they're common in the Southern Calif coastal mountains and come out on warm days.
When you're riding fast you can just speed by or if necessary bunny hop over them. Going slow we we've had to stop and shoo a few off the trail to proceed.
Hearing a rattle in the bushes when you've stopped for a break raises the hair on the back of your neck.
