Another E8000 bites the dust ?

Hi so looks like the motor in my Lapierre AM927i has chucked it after 18 months of issue free use. Cut out with W013 code 3 miles from home. Tried the usual on off reset checked all the connections etc. looked like it cleared after switching on and off a handful of times but failed again after a few yards. Cycling home was fun . Removed battery and re-installed still no joy. I am getting the E010 code now. Can get the main screen back if I switch on and off multiple times and weirdly the walk mode works. I have contacted the shop I purchased from and they have told me to take it to my nearest Shimano Steps service center. Bike is still in warranty so can anyone suggest/recommend a Shimano Steps service center in central Scotland ?

Any help gratefully received.

All decent bike shops are Shimano service centres so just use your local one.

W013 usually occurs on startup, if there's pressure on the cranks. Could be the battery has taken a crap, wiring or sensor issues, and so on. Hooking it up to a PC using the SM-PCE02 can provide better diagnostics. A shop can do this or you could do it yourself if you can find one (they're difficult to come by these days). Sometimes they pop up on eBay.

Thanks Gary was not sure if they had to be a steps service centre - will give my local shop a call - they lent me they're sm-pce01 kit a while back to re-set my password when I screwed it up so good guys but mostly roadies they had only ever used it to set up Di2.

Been having a read through the posts regarding this and just checked the bottom bracket and there is slight play so possibly bearing wear which according to other posts could be a cause of the w013 error which was what came up originally (think it's the torque sensor ?) so presumably if it was that it would be because the torque sensor reading was getting error with excessive movement. Also got the following error codes:

1506091409 [21 6 9 20 9]
4701101409 [71 1 16 20 9]

anyone any idea what they are ?

worth checking the alignment as if it goes out it can cause these codes

Motor has given up, no error codes the motor damage was due to ware or impact hits over time causing the casing lugs to fail and to close bolt up snug. A two pack cement glue used a few times held up some good years and held up well....

Now l am weighing up wether l can locate any options.... Seen a few e8000 motors on eBay, wondering wether anyone has had a positive purchase there to receive the goods bolt motor back in to powered up and carry on good to go.....

Or possibly l have overlooked on locating another site for the e8000 motor....

Yeah right, so what l am seeing here is.... A powered up e8000 place upon normal downward peddle pressure causes crank bb shaft flexing to the degree movement of forces reach to the casing lugs eventually cracking the moulding lugs totalling the tightening closing of motor......

l own two bikes with the same motors both sharing this exact diagnosis, both have cracked casings and both motors have been two pack resin glued, which seems to work at best, only a possible drawback with all this resin, overheating may eventually cause to failing up.
