Had this a lot in my shop in the day. Easy fit is just soap for the dishes , but expensive.... first go till 90 psi , won’t pop , ok . Deflate, then put soap water or wd40 where the tyre won’t pop. Then again 90 psi, repeat this , at one point it will pop ???

My tyre says it has a max of 40 psi. Would 90 be dangerous?

Yup - have seen tires explode at 75-80 psi.

It is not about the pressure - it is about putting a volume of air into the tire in the shortest possible time. Have not found any tire that could not be popped onto the rim using 50-60 psi.

Oh yer - that max 40 psi usually refers to the maximum pressure the tire will work in and not pressure it will hold.
