My Trek Rail 9 has just covered 5000 miles on its original Sram Eagle GX Mech. I’m wondering how common this is?
I’ve been running 3 waxed sram chains at approximately 100 miles each before swapping to the next chain. Never changed the split links.
My riding is mainly lanes, muddy fields and woodland. Quiet gear changes performed.
Gear change is still perfect although jockey wheel bearings disintegrated a 1000 miles ago to be replaced without bearings.
Treading lightly in this world comes in many different forms reducing chain/cassette wear being one. Waxing chains has been a game changer, not having money to burn another.
Do I win a prize or maybe lots more free injections! I’m planning on drinking tyre slime to stop my puncture holes leaking.
