Old post . Still ridiculous. Police don't even no what an e bike is .99 Bikes AUstralia backed by VIP's are apparently negotiating with the ACCC. We are hoping for a favourable outcome. I am presuming it’s all about the manufacturers warranty support. The was a vote on this and other forums which has been deleted by admins that had relevant information needed. We suggest that everyone complies to the rules as they will be conducting random checks leading to fines and bikes been confiscated.
Backed by VIP's, right.... And what has the ACCC got to do with any of this?99 Bikes AUstralia backed by VIP's are apparently negotiating with the ACCC. We are hoping for a favourable outcome. NZ already has 1 and 3 its so strange to be that Australia has none of the above...Tasmania has released a consultancy paper to lift restrictions to 32kph and also introduce speed pedelec class
Tasmanian e-bike regulations review
The Tasmanian Government is reviewing e-bike regulations. Tasmania’s e-bike regulations support the safe integration of e-bikes into Tasmania’s transport system and should reflect that our population’s needs are different to those in flatter, more densely populated cities.engage.stategrowth.tas.gov.au

It wasn't high risk. It was just a single track I have ridden many times over many years. Not sure why I didn't see the tree limb. I was following another rider. Maybe I was distracted by him.if I was riding high risk situation,
No idea. When climbing and descending single track forest trails, I only monitor my heart rate zone colour when riding. Not my speed. You just ride at a comfortable speed. I doubt we achieve speeds above 25kph. It just too twisty weaving in and out between the trees.I hope you weren't doing over 25 kph !
Agree. Each to their own. But if you go riding without your helmet, and the situation changes or isn't what you expected. It's normally too late to fetch your helmet.Personal responsibility is up to each of us based on risk
