27.5 wheels for my 2019 Levo

So I want to try at least a 27.5 on the back of my Levo, maybe even the full set. In another thread someone mentioned the DT Swiss H1900. Well after looking a bit it appears that the 1900 is the low end model and the 1700 is a bit better. I also see quite a few M1700 not H1700. Will the M1700 be fine? Any issues with them? One review quoted that the freehubs are not the best made it sound like they took long to engage?? I am a bit lost. Can someone shed some light. Also, what will the changes in feel be with just the rear 27.5 and with both 27.5? Obviously I plan on flipping the chip

I’d be concerned about a low bottom bracket height, you bikes BBH is what 347mm? Putting 27.5” in the rear will lower that down to what roughly? 340mm? Maybe lower.
Would probably have to consider looking at shorter cranks.

We've two Bulls E-Stream with the DT Swiss H1900, 27.5. They're strong (12500km without an issue) and not expensive, so go for it!

Fairly sure the 1900 has the same rim and spokes etc..as the 1700 the hub is the only difference.

My mate did the rear only, I found him a bargain 40mm Bontrager 27.5 rear wheel at Triton Cycles, shimano hub. If you run 29 up front and at least 2.6 tyre at the back with the bike chip in high position the geometry and bb height will be ok.

Cheaper dtswiss wheelset has the 240 hub same as stock on 2019 Levo base and comp, the more expensive set has the 360 hub same as stock on 2019 Levo expert.

so if I run the back only and bigger tire I will have a bit more cushion and traction on the rear with little change to the geometry

Yes same mullet setup as the Canyon Spectral which uses a 2.8 27.5 rear tyre. My friend is running 2.6 27.5 tyre still, but he upped the front travel to 160mm which is within the frame warranty. The aim being to maintain geometry, but make the bike more playful.

30 mm would be the minimum to match the stock Roval rim nothing wrong with going to 40mm would hold a 2.6 tyre with a rounder profile. Most factory mullet bikes run a wider rear rim.

well, I had a good heart to heart with the tech guys from DT Swiss, they deffinitly suggest using their E-bike specific wheels, the H series. One guy was Ok with the H1900, the other guy said to go with a minimum of the H1700. I went with the H1700, I found a 30mm internal for a decent price, I would have rather had the 35, but the price was good so I went for it. I will have a front left over as I only plan on running the rear with a 2.8 Maxxis Minion DHRii. My shop mechanic keeps looking at me like I am nuts. When I showed up last week with the 220mm front rotor he had a blank look..... I honestly do not think he had ever seen a rotor that big. then when I said I was going to the 27.5 rear, again..... Why?? Why not??? I can always go back!!!

I dont think you need to run a 2.8, imo that kind of negates the point of mulleting the bike by putting a big sluggish tyre on the back when surely the idea is to make it more nimble, I would run a 2.5/2.6. The drop in BB height isn't an issue IMO, you will get used to it.

I know @Wheelie_King tried this, he stayed with the standard wheels afaik
