Well, well, well! Here it is :)

I truly think this bike is the best value for money ever.
Did first 100km, defo need a longer dropper, but rest? Oh boy, how good it is!

I am no pro but I had a chance the ride few EMTB and even my amateur ass can say that 38 + X2 and their six-bar suspension is an absolute joy to ride with extremely plush feel to it with very little squat.

If you think about getting this bike, I HIGHLY recommend it!

Feel free to ask any questions ;)

I looked at it before buying my Merida E160. That 6 bar suspension is really heavy, making the bike over 26kgs. It also came with 12 speed transmission, meaning you didn't get Autoshift.

Don't get me wrong. It's a really nice bike. But I spent AUD$2500 less on the Merida and it only cost me $700 to fit the Di2 Derailleur and Shifter.

So I ended up with a similar spec'd, LBS purchased EMTB, that was $1700 cheaper and over 2kg lighter. So whilst a really nice well priced bike. I wouldn't call it a Steal. But I haven't ridden the Polygon.

And that brings me to the last issue. I fully test rode 3 EMTBs at 2 different LBS, before settling on the the E160 700. You can't do that with the Polygons. You have to buy them, then return them if you don't like it.

These are absolutely fair points but:
  • I don't care one bit about auto-shift. Coast-shift is where it's at ❤️
  • With CB Mallet-E I clock mine at 25,2kg, so that not too bad IMO.
  • E160 on all-Kashima costs DOUBLE the cost of N8XE (XDDDD)
  • And even despite the cost difference, I cannot get new Merida anywhere locally due to complete lack of supply.
So to sum it up, yes I really do think N8XE is a steal of a century ;)

Oh also, of course I meant 2024 Merida line-up not the "old" one but of course the price for sure depends on the market.
In Poland Polygon has a distribution, so I bought it also from LBS with full warranty and service - if needed.

You cannot?!
That sucks.... :cautious:
GoOutdoors does stock Polygon in UK - however its the lower model N8E:

Looking at both it seems the only differences are that you dont get kashima and some lower spec wheels and components

Mate, if you are happy with the bike. That's all that matters. Just trying to give a balanced perspective of using the word "Steal" to other readers.

It could just be the Merida is really well priced in Australia. The Recommended retail is AUD$8500, which is $100 more than the N8XE in Australia. But they were unloading some 2023 stock, and the LBS came down to AUD$5800, to try and stop me from leaving the store.

As I said. I nearly pulled the trigger on the N8XE myself. It's a wonderfully spec'd bike. But there are some bargains to be had out there at the moment, if you look around. Maybe not the case in Europe. I know Brexit has pushed prices up in the UK.

Anyway. Enjoy the bike.

Prices in the UK are on par with the majority of Europe if not cheaper .

My polygon came in a box, what's up with the shrink wrap and pallet?
