I paid for my bike, and have no affiliation, whatsoever, with DJI. Never have. I have a DJI drone, and now a DJI bike, that's it.

But no shit, that is what marketing is, so what. All companies pay for marketing, and a lot of marketing, is complete bullshit.... that's how it works. Only a fools believes marketing, without vetting the truth.

If you want to cut through the marketing, you either have to buck up, and buy one, and/or try one, or trust someone who has. I did all of the above.

The bike is genuinely amazing and awesome. Try one, and you will see for youreself.

Hi ebike fans, I’m new, I initially didn’t see there was a dedicated “reviews” section on this forum. I posted a review in another thread,……. Sorry, Newbie face slap!

Anyway, why has no one written a review here on this bike yet, I wonder?

Here is my review of my new Amflow PL. (800 wH), (in the proper place in the forum this time, adding some things)

Background - I have owned or ridden every system on the market, over the last 8 years, and have been riding MTB’s basically my entire life…. My Most recent bike, has the bosch (delimited.)

I have 7 rides on my AMFLOW so far, now over 100 miles.
Performance: I had some reservations having to buy without trying, but got some input from a friend in Europe. From that, I had high expectations, but after riding it, it met and definitely exceeded my expectations. In my opinion - The AMFLOW should have been “the eMTB of the year,” and the it’s definitely the “eMTB of the last decade.”
The performance of this bike is absolutely insane, in terms of power, torque, but also in terms of control. The motor output based on rider input, is super impressive, especially when climbing. When hitting the 20 mph limit, it doesn't just cut out, rather it smoothly lets you off, while maintaining some support at the 20 mph mark. I ‘d say the control (motor controller) is in a class of it's own. I would have guessed DJI would use sensorless FOC control (like drones) but with the encoder on the back wheel, and perhaps there are also halls on the motor, not sure, can’t tell - anyway I suspect its sensored closed loop control, and regardless, it is really excellent.

There is a “sweet spot” for every gear, in terms of cadence. The motor really shines and puts out, at higher cadence, and smoothly cuts back at lower cadence. But even so, somehow, with lower cadence, if you need the torque (this is most noticeable when climbing steeps in lower gears), it is there.

Acceleration is nothing short of awesome. IT really comes out of the corners, fast, if you are in the right gear, with the right cadence.

Climbing is the best part of this bike, for me. I have never enjoyed climbing hills like this. IT will climb just about anything the tires still have traction for. no lift needed, for sure, if it was in a DH bike.


Range: I have the 800 wH Pro. (note I have the modes all tuned for max power on the app)

I have been getting a consistent 17 miles riding 100% on turbo (with 8% left in the battery), cross country super technical terrain.
I haven't tried trail mode only for an entire ride, to see what range I get, (turbo has been too much fun.) ..but plan to.
I’ve hit the boost a couple of times in each ride.
With a mix of trail and turbo, mostly turbo, I got near 20 miles. Maybe did 5 of those miles on trail mode.

The weight (lack of) of the battery is really noticeable, especially when I get back on a bosch with a 625 wH battery. The weight and balance of the bike in general, feels perfect.

I think, at least for me, the 600 Wh battery, would be too small, but that really depends on what kind of riding mode you are using most of the time, and your riding style, how many miles you like to do, per ride, etc.


The boost mode is wonderful, amazing, but hard to find a place to use in tight singletrack or technical, unless hitting a big hill. It seems, the boost, noticeably drains the battery a bit each time, which is to be expected, the motor is probably running hot, and not as efficiently.

Technology - the app, the touchscreen, etc - is also super nice and superior to anything else. For any that understand and appreciate motor and gear technology, the dual planetary with helical stage (that's for noise), offset to the spur, I think, is super smart. IT looks like (from the website pictures) only the helical stage is plastic, but its larger than the other stages, so should be strong compared to the metal stages, but it also depends on what kind of plastic they used.

Time will tell for reliability and life. I plan to ride the hell out of this bike, always on turbo, so plan to find out. First year on the market, I know I am one of the guinea pigs, but was happy to take that risk, for the reward.

IN my last review post , I stated that “Getting back on the bosch feels like I stepped out of a 2025 Ferrari, and into a 1980's ford focus.” OK, that’s not really true, I was exaggerating…to much adrenaline from the ride.

It’s more like stepping out of a twin turbo Ferrari, into something like a Toyota Camery (V6, no turbo).
Still, there is no comparison really, the DJI just RIPS with the feeling of monstrous power. Compared to my bosch…it just gets you where you are going.

Initially I thought I might be disappointed with the travel @ 160 mm front, and 150 mm back, but this bike really handles fantastically from 0 - 20 mph and with most hits. ITs not a downhill bike, but not far from the feel if an enduro bike. I will probably upgrade to a 170mm Fox 38 up front eventually, but super happy with the 36 on this bike at the moment.



Downsides:

No higher travel - enduro / DH versions yet.

Only available in a few countries so far. If you want one in a country not supported yet, you have to buy it in one of those few countries like I did…and ship it. (took me about 2 months).

1st year out, not a bike for the risk adverse.


Overall:

All the technical aside, Riding an ebike, has never been so much fun, this bike is beyond SICK! Definitely Superior to anything out there on the market today in terms of feel, performance, and power density.

This is the ebike of my dreams, pretty much exactly what I’ve been wishing someone in the industry would do, for so long…for the last 8+ years in fact. FINALLY! A powerful, fast, high torque bike with decent battery capacity - that doesn’t weigh a ton, or feel like a shit ton of bricks.

I am absolutely love riding this Beast, such an awesome job and bike, DJI.

In conclusion, my initial review is that DJI Crushed it on all 3 eMTB parts: the battery, the drive, and the display. They did a pretty nice job on the 4th part too (the bike).

First thing the bike on the screen, when powered up for the first time...asks, is what country you are in.., for language, etc. ITs got lots of languages and countries, already set up, So I bet it limits the speed based on that. I choose USA, and it cut out at 20 mph with the 29 wheel, set for a 29 on the app.

Set the wheel to a 27.5 on the app, but leave the 29 on, and it gives you just a bit more top speed....I tried that yesterday, maybe it gets to like 21.5 mph (but then your miles won't be accurate on the display. I also use a GPS for miles, when I ride, and just watch the battery, so I don't care too much about how accurate the bike is for miles. ) I am used to riding delimited with a speedbox, so I like a bit more top speed, although for the riding I do here in the Northeast, really technical, pretty much only take advantage of that, on fire roads, and once in a while on the trail.

The fact that its cutting out at 20 mph isn't bothering me, for any gain my buddies that I ride with, get with their also delimited bikes, I can take that away and pass them, uphill, no problem.

Dude, That already exists. You don't need it to link to your bike, some drones, can follow you while riding. Mine can.

You can link, one of those DJI Osmo cameras, to this bike, from what I've seen and read. I Don't have one of those, though.

The DJI Action integration on Amflow is really nice, as for drones there is nothing today but as said some of DJIs models do follow and object sensing.

For instance the new Neo is ideal however even today object sensing and avoidance on drones is still over played and very limited. In an open area is fine but you will struggle with it tracking though the woods. Even the very best that was the Skydio was still limited really.

A 360 cam on a sick is still the ultimate.

Not well. Depends on the drone,

I agree with madman...the follow me drones are limited, you need some decent open space.

The Neo drone is cool, but I think would be too slow to follow you on this bike...it only goes something like 13 mph max. I think, unless you are using it with the goggles. And no obstacle avoidance. I have a Neo, and it will follow you pretty good, hiking, for example.

For the Amflow, I would go with an OSMO, if you want to film your ride.

Hi, l'm not fake either.
Had my Amflow for 10 days now.
It is incredible, very happy with it so far.
I have been riding MTBs since they were invented (yes I am getting on a bit now), if I had a Dollar (or preferable a Pound ) for every bike or innovation that has been hyped as a 'Game Changer' over the years I would be quite wealthy.
However this bike is the real deal and a genuine Game Changer.
Only time will tell how reliable it proves to be.
The customer support was very responsive to my pre-purchased enquiries and they seem keen to engage with customers, which is very encouraging.

I agree, Innovations come and go, but some are bigger than others, this bike is a huge innovation for emtbs. But Yep, it changes the sport, really, never had so much fun on a mountain bike. I'd be riding this thing every day if it wasn't so damn cold out.

It's clearly a great bike and I don't understand the hate for it or the anti Chinese feeling ( most of the frames we ride are made in Asia. )
But I also don't see it as much better or more innovative than lots of other amazing bikes out there.
We've had and still have high torq motors....hibike flyon, rocky mountain etc. as for weight if you put shit tyres on a 2019 cube it'll come in around 21kg.

Still has a derailleur!!!!

Ohh please too cold to ride get out there buddy winter rides are awesome.....

Its got higher power density than anything else. OR should I bring it down, even more?...like kindergarten level.

The display, and the battery, are all innovative / better than most, in the market, in my opinion. No, there is nothing special about the bike, itself, if that is your point? Same components and similar geometry on many other bikes. The motor, battery and display, make a bike, an e-bike.

Love how you chime in all the time, when you don't even own this bike...isn't that the "truth?"

The clown show, is over there man. I can only suggest maybe you ride the bike, so you can get "enlightened."

I don't know why I even reply to those that Hate, question, and talk shit, about a bike they have never tried or owned, in the first place. Good point, Thanks for the pep talk.
