Just curious, sounds like heavy spring, what’s your riding weight (helmet, H2o pack, etc…)… I’m 200 lbs kitted, ride XL Bullit with Cane Creek coil with 550 lb spring. Its the light weight steel linear spring.

I'm same weight as u and ran same weight spring. I went to a 500lb spring after I put the cascade link on.Just curious, sounds like heavy spring, what’s your riding weight (helmet, H2o pack, etc…)… I’m 200 lbs kitted, ride XL Bullit with Cane Creek coil with 550 lb spring.
Yeah, I had some bottom out issues with the 500 lb. SC site indicates 550 for the RS coil at my weight and Cane Creek agreed for their coil, my son uses that “Springdex” adjustable rate coil setup, which is pretty cool.I'm same weight as u and ran same weight spring. Shoot, forgot to add link in case you’re curious:Yeah, I had some bottom out issues with the 500 lb. SC site indicates 550 for the RS coil at my weight and Cane Creek agreed for their coil, my son uses that “Springdex” adjustable rate coil setup, which is pretty cool.
I got the rock shox coil with the bottom out damper . It's pretty good at preventing harsh bottom outs.Yeah, I had some bottom out issues with the 500 lb. Mine was creaking from the udh/rear axle before I tracked it down. Took it all apart, cleaned/greased and the creak is gone.Sweet ride! Here's a recent of mine.its been a beast of a bike and checks all my requirements of a bike that can handle steep and gnarly trails.
One issue I've been having is a steady creak. I thought it was a pivot issue but turns out it's the battery. I need to figure out if there's any adjustments on the battery mounts to make it go away.

Glad u found your creak. I found that if I squeeze the battery compartment while riding it goes away. I think u can adjust the battery connectors.Mine was creaking from the udh/rear axle before I tracked it down. Took it all apart, cleaned/greased and the creak is gone.

Just wanted to give an update to the creek coming from my battery. After doing a full days ride yesterday and listening to that annoying creek the whole time I went home stripped The battery terminals off and readjusted. As I was taking the skid plate off I found a shit load of tiny pebbles trapped in there which explained one noise and as I was bolting it on it made the same creak that's been driving me nuts as it touched the frame. 2 pieces of mastic tape to keep it from touching frame and my creak is gone!!Glad u found your creak. Nice! Glad you don't have to listen to it anymore man.Just wanted to give an update to the creek coming from my battery. Ya, .5 degree for every 10mm of travel. I'm gonna talk more with my local bike shop Fanatik about my ideas. They should be able to get me sorted. I'm assuming if I go 180/180 I'd be happy with it and not notice much of the extra .5 degree of slack, etc.. It's 190/185 that I'm concerned with. I'd love to get max suspension travel out of this bike with Rockshox parts, but want to be careful I'm not creating changes that I'll regret.I'm 180/180 now but have no clue what the head tube angle is lol. What is it, half a degree for every 10mm? I've always wanted to throw a Dorado on mine but it isn't rated for tripples...

With pebbles getting in I wonder if the battery cover and skid plate aren't sealing against the frame?Nice! Glad you don't have to listen to it anymore man.

Yaya, been riding the crap out of the bike but haven't made too many changes so I haven't posted.Haven't heard any updates lately. Hope you're still enjoying the Bullit and the FJ40. I've been meaning to upgrade the Fox 38 Grip fork on my Bullit and am going back and forth between having an X2 damper installed with the fork rebuild or just taking advantage of the black Friday sale and buying a new Fox 38 X2 fork. Only real difference I can see for the added $500 is a Kashima coat (which looks sexy as hell) and different bushing that improve oil flow. Saving the money feels like the smart way to go. Swapping the fork feels like it may have minor advantages, but I'll be paying for that extra sexiness when I'm looking at the bike in between rides.
Ooof. I guess I've been lucky with mine.I took my Bullit first time out in the snow few two weeks ago, it thanked me with E914 code...took it out again last friday and again, E914...looks like my Bullit doesn't like snow so much or honeymoon is juts over Well it was great 8 months/1600km's, best ebike ever Shimano will send me new battery, hope it solves this...
I have now experience with Specialized, Bosch and Shimano, started to look some back up emtb because it looks like all bikes needs some repair shop time
