I have a 503 error on the Kiox display. I finally had time to take it out for a spin.
Turned out the speed sensor cable needed replacing

Bike is at the shop but here's one i took while they were trying to troubleshoot over the phone.
The magnet mounts around the Centerlock nut on the hub.

here’s my arrangement. May be erratic reading because the magnet is too far?

I suspect the issue here is ( as mentioned earlier) this is a Bosch fault. Your LBS may supply Orbea bikes ( and other brands) but that does not mean they know jot about Emtbs and especially the Bosch electronics system. Take your bike to a Bosch registered service centre. Anything related tot he motor is warrantied by Bosch not Orbea so if replacement parts are required a registered Bosch service centre can access the warranty. They will now what the error report is ( I think we already established it is speed sensor related) and there are only 4 elements to that beyond the signal provided to the PCB in the motor...............magnet, sensor, cable and connection to the terminal going to the motor PCB. Assuming the magnet is in place and is correctly aligned with the sensor the next thing to check is any damage to the cable. Most speed sensor cable travel through the chainstay and exit close to the motor housing before going into that housing via a motor cover. The cable is sometimes subject to damage just where it exits the chainstay due to rear triangle travel. If the cable is not damage the connection at the motor end is the last thing to check.
A new sensor and cable would eliminate most of that fault finding.
If the bike worked fine for 200 miles it seems likely that cable damage could be the cause for a failure after that amount of time.

Other than that, did you do any work involving removal of the rear wheel and/or rotor immediately before the fault appeared??

Not sure this will help but my magnet had lots of metal filings on it (I'm assuming from the brake pads as they wear) which affected the motor engagement. It didn't cause an error code but it made the motor at low cadence start and then stop for milliseconds. On looking at your pictures, its worth cleaning the magnet of any metal filings?

That was a disc rotor mounted magnet whereas the OP said he has a magnet built into the lock nut for the centre mount rotor ( which presumably is a Shimano rotor) If that is the case the sensor is often located in the frame just a bove the thru axle.
All of my bikes have had 6 bolt mounted rotors so I am not familiar with the arrangement for a centre mount. Is it possible to to put the centre mount lock nut on either way? Just thining that if the rotor had been removed for whatever reason and the lock nut magnet is one sided, putting it on with the magnet side towards the hub would prevent it working???

Well the crappy clip is doing its job... I can see nothing wrong there. Do you have any photos of the disc rotor/centre lock nut? With reference to my earlier post do you have any photos of the point at which the sensor cable leaves the front of the chainstay? As I said before that exit point is one area that the cable can be damaged due to rubbing on the hole in the chainstay as the rear triangle moves with the suspension.

If the sensor has become detached from the clip it would take a right beating!! Has the LBS not just changed the sensor and cable? Seems an obvious first step.

I think that's what they were waiting for. The first time I dropped it off i asked them to check that but apparently they didn't take kindly to the suggestion.
I should've just done it myself.
personally, I would go get the bike and take it somewhere else. You can have no confidence in them after all those delays. Being in a queue beofre you can book a bike in is one thing............taking days and weeks to fix a problem is a nonsence.
