2018 Levo Stem - anyone changed it?

My XL 2018 Levo comes with a 60mm stem. I know @Rob Hancill tried a shorter stem (at least I think I read that somewhere). Has anyone tried a shorter stem, and did you notice a positive change in the steering/ride?

Not tried it on a levo, but a shorter stem will make the steering slightly quicker

first thing every rider in my group changed. the Levo stem is one ugly XC looking stem. Most of us went to 30mm, Diety, 5050, thompson just to name a few.
For me it was more of a cosmetic change, i really couldnt stand the sight of it

I’m thinking to change stem of Turbo Levo 2019 when I will receive the bike,do you know how many mm is it? If I understand well what are you saying shorter it’s better both in terms of aesthetics and functionality?Is it correct?

I changed mine to a 40 mm renthal stem with fatbar lites, made a big difference to mine for the better

if you dont know the legnth of your stock stem, and havnt ridden your bike yet...dont change for the sake of changing. Ride the bike first....if it feels good, leave it. once you are comfortable with the bike and you feel there is room for improvements, you start modding

No I didn't. Older Levo is already a short bike (mine is also XL) so no need to make it even shorter.

I put a 50mm ODI on it with new riser bars and it made a big difference.

Thanks for the replies. I don't want to shorten the reach too much, so I'm thinking 50mm. I have some 800mm Renthals with 20mm rise, but I might try the stock 780mm with 25mm rise Spesh bars.
