I recently got a 2022 Giant Trance X Advanced+ 1 (29" wheels). I was looking for a Reign but can't get them in Canada. I'm changing the Fox 36 air shaft assembly to get 160mm in the front.

Did any of you removed the 2.5mm spacer in the rear shock to get the full 55mm stroke (or just installed a 185x55 shock)? I saw in some threads here that some of you did this on their 2019, I'm wondering if it would also work on the newer 2022. I think the 2019 were 27.5" and mine is a 29".

Thanks for the help,

Just mounted a 185x55 RockShox Super Deluxe Ultimate to my Trance X Advanced e+ 2 without any problem.

Go for it!

Upgraded to a 2023 Lyrik Ultimate 29" 160mm.
Does not feel much different Geomtry-wise, because 30% is lost in SAG and 7mm does not make it a different bike.
It's Wintertime here, so I haven't hit demanding trails, but I'm pretty sure it won't be worser than before :)

I did the air can service on my shock today and removed the spacer to go to 185x55mm. I tested full travel and not close to hitting anything. So it's 4.5% more shock travel, so by rough calcs rear suspension travel should be 104.5% or 146mm.

I'm curious what tune did you get? I'm going to upgrade my blown Fox and I see they offer few different tunes. (Digressive, Light Progressive, Linear, Progressive).
