I don’t get it , for rock and mud to be flicking up and hitting your post you gotta be going fast , when going fast on my bike it’s usually when going DH and the post is dropped ! The only time it’s at full hieight is when I’m plodding up steep climbs a lot slower 🤔

if there is any mud around, my guard is covered in it. I live and ride in a hilly and steep area but there are still some flat sections.

It works for dust too. Just like your forks, it is the rear of the seat post that gets the dust - with the guard I don't see any dust. I still wipe it down and give the dropper a smear of shimano brake oil and work the post up and down. There is a uniform tiny dust / oil mix in a ring around the post that I then wipe off - but very minimal to what it used to be.

I was thinking of getting my son to make me a battery extension so I could slip it ontop of a shimano 8035 and use it where an 8036 would fit, mabe you could look into that
