Hi, I'm coming up the day before and staying in an Airbnb in Cinderford.. so only a few minutes away.
I was hoping to squeeze some extra riding in on the Saturday but by the time I arrive it'll likely be getting dark! I'll probably just have a nose around and enjoy the ride on Sunday instead...
I’ll probably be up for this.. not been to FoD before (y)
@Doomanic how long did it take you to get over to us in Surrey last weekend? I seem to remember it was a good 3hrs? I’m contemplating coming up on the Saturday and making a weekend of it.
Great to meet up with everyone! Thanks @VWsurfbum for organising and your patience in guiding us all round ?
Definitely have to do another one soon whilst the weather remains half decent ?
Nice one, sounds like a plan. I'll aim to park over that side as well (grey Audi A4 estate). I'll be on a black Rail with a blue/white POC helmet.

That's a good point.. how will we know everyone's arrived? There's a few folks travelling from afar who might get delayed in traffic etc.
It'd be a bugger to head off without them... leave no man behind and all that :D
I did 34km and 850m elevation tonight and finished with 20% on my 625 battery. So 500 might be cutting it a little fine. Mind you, I was on my own and pushing on a bit to beat the light with plenty of emtb mode.
Yoghurt pots first, then looping round to pick up Telegraph I think?
Funnily enough I did pretty much the same ride tonight  A few puddles but otherwise the trails are running nicely after the recent rain(y)
Another Rail owner here.. first emtb so can't offer any comparisons unfortunately. But have been really pleased with it so far.. it just feels like a really well-sorted bike.
The other major factor was my local bike shop has been helpful with everything. I think that and availability would be...
Welcome, nice list of bikes to choose from! I recently got my Trek Rail from Heads for the Hills in Dorking and couldn't be happier. They're also really relaxed about you taking their demo Rail out for the day as well.
As already mentioned you've also got Nirvana Cycles in Westcott. I used to...
I recently changed from the low to high position and started a thread here -

My experience is pretty much the same as yours. I really like it in high, much more playful. True, steep downhill is...
Hopefully not too much of a thread hijack but has anyone got recommendations for lightweight but sturdy long sleeve tops for summer riding? Doesn’t have to be mtb specific or fancy brand names.
Round my way the lesser used single track is getting overgrown and my arms are getting ripped to shreds!
There was a 30% discount a couple of weeks ago on the Adidas UK website. Seems they’ve dropped it down to a 15% discount now (SPRING15 code).
I’m also a size 10 and initially went for a 10.5 in the Freerider Pros as I’d heard they come up slightly small. They actually turned out slightly too...
I went out for a 30km ride yesterday with 750m of climbing. A real mix of downhill, tight single tracks and fire roads.
So far I’m really liking it in the high position. Much more involving and playful with reduced pedal strikes. It’s perhaps not quite as stable on steep descents but otherwise...
