A few mods, bigger rotors, renthal bars n apex stem, display, grips, tyres and (not shown) a range extender which I've only had to use once. Here at Llandegla B Line.
To conclude this, bike is on its way back to me
If anyone is on the fence about choosing a YT based on lack of local service, then I can say dealing with the YT Mill has been excellent with both customer service and the mechanics contacting me at regular intervals as updates became available...
Lee likes bikes originally suggested RAD. There's a video of a couple of youtube guys who put this to test. The test subject always rode medium, but RAD suggested small so he rode 2 identical but different sized bikes back to back on the same downhill flow trail and was consistently...
Glad I've stirred up some interesting conversation. I've always demo'd both M & S in every bike I've bought as I'm right at the overlap between the two sizes, and always ended up buying S. Also reach has grown massively over the last 7 years, my current small ebike is almost 40mm longer reach...
Shows how important personal preference and testing a bike is. I'm less concerned about seated position and more about reach which is a standing function, as that's the position I will be in cornering or in the air, where I want to be able to move the bike around under me.
I proscribe to the RAD sizi g principles (check youtube) so use reach = 2.5 x height cm. At 5ft5 that puts me on a small which fits perfectly. Tried a medium which was OK but noticeably less chuckable.
Look great but not a massive difference from the 2022 models which are still available and great value with some massive discounts at the moment. Just picked up a new 2022 M10 at 20% off.
Just watching the video now......
Frame look generally the same.
Top model under 16kg
Dongle gone and buttons and levels displayed via bluetootch switch
2 battery sizes available for both carbon and alloy, both lower in weight
Cables via headset on carbon.
New colours.
UK prices look about 400...
The Fox 'Performance elite' range have the same internals as fox 'Factory' less the kashima, so essentially the same as the top of the range in all but looks.
Edit - corrected above - I should know that as have the Elite's on my Decoy/
I bit the bullet and authorised the repairs as I still love the Decoy - expecting it back in 3-4 weeks.
Also went and bought an Orbea Rise M10 as wanted something a bit different to go with the Decoy. Its been an expensive weekend but you can't take it with you........
Guys
Thanks for all your input.
The 2.5K cost is a bit steep. The motor and battery is 1700 and the rest is a full service inc F&R shocks, all bearings replaced, new headstock and full XT drivetrain replacement. So it should be good as new as all needed replacing as its had 2 summers in the...
Update - YT have confirmed the motor and battery will have a new 2 year warranty if replaced but havent confirmed if this is transferable.
They have also confirmed that the motor is being replaced due to an error E01020 code which means 'replace the motor'
The replacement, plus some other...
Apologies for the click bait title, but my 2019 Decoy Pro has packed in, 'E010' and no support. Powering off and on just causes the Steps logo to flash on and off, it never gets as far as the normal display.
The battery itself has its LEDs flashing 3 on then 2 on repeatedly when off the bike...
Although not the Fazua, I demo'd a Orbea Rise with the 60nm EP8 RS at the weekend, and was surpised how little a difference to my Decoy with 70nm E8000. I could definately live with the 10nm reduction. I suspect the Fazua will be very similar.
Never kept any analogue main mtb over 2 years and merely sold them on the fund the replacement - my thought process has always been to sell them once they approach major (expensive) component replacement, wheels, suspension etc .
Kept a cheap(ish) 2015 downhill bike for occasional uplift use...
I've had my Decoy for over 12 months and not had an issue but my brothers has just started playing up with a permanent E10 error and it looks like he is facing sending it away for repair. Have to say that on inspecting it, the Decoy is way better sealed than my old Levo.
Previously my Levo went...
Same here @165, was between s and m on yt chart, demo'd medium in UK and small in Chatel, and went with small. All other bikes have been small. No regrets. Weight gives the bike stability so you don't need it to be the length of a barge. Downsizing retains some flickability..... Is that even a word.
