And I
And I don't know why they don't give us the same low price as the UK. When I bought my Carbon Levo I found out that Spec had lowered the price to the dealers to $3K including that extra 700 whr battery. So Specialized cost must be below that by enough to make money, quite an eye opener...
Oh I didn't see that. I probably would have bought one. It's back up to $3800. now so no way. I picked up a turbo levo carbon for $3500. recently so if I want a ride with more power I have both bikes and the 1.1 SL is still not that bad really.
So all of this really begs the question of those of you that have done this. Was it worth it? And of course you have to sell the kids bike unless you think a $3250. upgrade is worth it unless you got some kind deal in the US. It's a lot less expensive in the UK I've heard.
Yes if it is 16mph and not 15 mph then it's more like 19.3 mph (29/24) as long the actual circumference maintains the 1.21 ratio (tire profiles can vary a bit). If it's 15 mph, which is what I heard then it's still 18.1 mph for the 24 to 29".
So I'm the opposite, narrow shoulders and only 5'7". And with my collar bone injury 5 years ago even more narrow on one side, lol. I think a lot of us go overboard on bar width. I had mine at about 760mm and someone that was following me said I looked spread out too much. And research on...
Thanks, I have some 60mm riser Spank 35mm bars coming today, modest 9 deg backsweep. I noticed a lot of these backswept bars sweep forward first and if you rotate them back then the back sweep drops too low. And I think to avoid twitchy behavior you want the line running from grip to grip to...
I found this 40mm riser and 35mm diam but not enough back sweep. I'm in the same boat. I'm stuck with a S3 Turbo Levo Carbon that is just too big for me. I tried to find a S2 and Spec didn't have any at all. The S3 is not a true medium and more like a small large. TAG Metals T1 Aluminum...
So to clarify, the std 1.1 Sl with the 1.2 motor and TCU/battery swap would still think it had the smaller circumference wheel (without a firmware change...if that is even possible/compatible) and at the the max kids bike setting of 15 mph you would really be going much faster, maybe 18 mph if...
And of course Spec is taking the hands off approach to all of this for now saying they don't recommend any of it and they even said they've NOT being able to do this, implying they tried but failed, lol, which I don't believe. I think they must know the answer if the old TCU can be re-flashed...
OK my dealer just told me he can now get me the 1.2 motor and battery for $1650. He doesn't say anything about the TCU.
I understood the old TCU will not work with the new motor or will not allow it to perform any different from the old motor. Does anyone know, based on experience if this...
Yes I find the newer Turbo Levo (and SL geometry an upgrade except for the much longer reach of 452mm and resulting RAD for my size. The longer wheelbase is not noticeable over my medium SL except that the smaller medium SL feels more maneuverable/flickable/lively and some of that is weight 38...
Thanks. I was trying to get the S2 Turbo LEVO when they had the big sale on the carbon model and ended up with the S3 (paid $3500. and traded the 700 wh battery for a set of Roval CF rims) which is a lot longer and more reach then my medium Sl which is just right. Love the Levo's power though...
Great review and still considering this. The price is now $3249. for the kids bike. I only found one reference to anything about speed in reviews and they called it class 1 which is 20 mph. They also said this is settable in the app. Would the std 1.1 TCU and/or battery work? I'm not clear...
Same size as you and I went with the S3 but tried to find an S2. The S2 reach and wheelbase are very close to my 2022 SL medium which feels just right. My S3 just feels too big with too much weight on my hands when seated. I recently lowered the saddle a lot and pushed the seat forward all...
Don't bother asking. The answer is that they are working on a fix. Can't be more than a one day job but they are taking forever and so it must be the lowest priority for them. As a former mechanical engineer and also a programmer of CADCAM software for over 10 years I'd personally be so...
I had no idea there were two apps and have always only had the Mission Control app which they did recently update with the 80% charging feature. I guessing again, but probably both of them have this issue. I will download the Specialized app anyway so I at least have 10 80% charges. Not sure...
So to be clear the app works for SL but the new 80% charge feature has a bug that makes it stop working. Everything else works. I'm not sure but I imagine this 80% charge issue is a problem with app not any specific motor. But I do know it's an issue with my 2021 SL.
No they told me yesterday by email that they are still working on it. The app online is dated back in August so it has not been updated yet. Reloading it will probably get it to work for a while I imagine and I might try that too. Sort of like what a reset does, but temporary.
Yes they did add it and it typically works for a while. I think mine might have worked for 10 rides at which time it's designed to do ONE 100% charge for battery health and then should go back to 80%...which mine, and many others (maybe all), didn't do. Specialized acknowledges there is a...
