Gooday trailaddict.......very interesting post. Looks like you have answered my queries. Look as though I will be charging off bike for the foreseeable future. Will show the shop these comments....if not charging.....and see if they have any news. I'm already accepting a wasted journey on...
I will also leave an update. I have had my Gateway,Wiring, controller and a new battery fitted at a main Giant shop. Only used the once so not sure if my random shutting down has been addressed, but do know that it is now not charging on bike. Came back from a test ride with 2 or 3 bars left...
Gooday all. I have been following this thread for a while now.....even contributed to it when my Son had shutting down issues a while ago. His would shut down...put my battery in ..worked....etc etc. We both have 2021 Trance X E+ 2 Pro 29er bikes. Took his to a Giant dealer and they straight...
Gooday robnz. My 2021 Trance has just started doing the same. Could be contacts, clean etc but Giant ,main dealer that I bought it from are going through 3 stages. First is the battery firmware, that didn't solve it. Bike is in having controller, loom and Gateway receiver changed today to see if...
Think that may be my limiting factor......rim width. Taken from MTBR review on line....
" The 2.6 Mazza is 63.37 mm wide with a 33 mm width rim."
Looked up my bike specs and see that my rims are 30mm wide. So rims are "pulling" in my tread width.....but why are my Maxxis not doing the same...
Just been looking at a review on Bike Radar for an E-Mazza of 2.4" width tyre. My 2.6" doesn't look too far away from a 2.4" tyre. Perhaps Vittoria use the same widths rather than make larger moulds...lol
"The 2.4in Enduro and e-MTB casing tyre measured 59mm/2.32in on both the 27.5in and 29in...
Interesting....I don't think that there are any British Standards relating to wheel / tyre sizes so makers can really put any figure down that pleases them. Obviously tyre diameters are more critical for fitting onto rims. I had a non-foldable Magic Mary on my previous Trance that took about 5...
Gooday all. Just replaced a tyre on my E-Trance. Replaced my rear 2.6 x 29" Maxxis Assegai with a 2.6 x 29" Vittoria E - Mazza. When my original front tyre is sitting next to the Vittoria rear there is a distinct visual difference. Thought I would measure the tread and using calipers across the...
Likewise...really glad you sorted it. But I think your subconsciously a little upset that the quest to sort the problem is over...lol. You have invested a lot of investigative work and money into a problem that really should have been sorted by the Giant boffins. I have perversely been following...
To be fair I received a good outcome for my "problem". Had my Trance X E+ Pro 29 6 months / 500 miles at the time. Cleaning around the crank/motor area and found a bit of "play" when you turn the crank arms axially. Sound of a slight knocking as if a keyway was worn. Do not know how the drive...
Gooday.
Perhaps you can contact Evolution Stu on forum, as he has gone the other way...ooops..re-phrase......changed from keylock to Torx operated lock. He made good points why he has changed locking mechanism too.
Gooday Rubinstein. Checked out CRC and couldn't see the OneUp dropper, eyesight not what it used to be. Brand X seem to list 4 struts and I would probably pick the wrong one and have to send back. Thanks anyway. Can get one from one of the German online store for 40 odd Euros. But when I went...
Gooday Rubinstein. Your correct I believe in that the Brand-X Ascend uses a similar gas strut as the Giant Contact dropper post. I've been waiting for 6 months now for a gas strut and been told another 2 months...possibly. Must be supply issues as noticed some tyres are also in short/none supply...
Gooday Rubinstein....thanks for your reply.....Gulp. I couldn't get the price near my mouth let alone swallow it.....:LOL:. Couldn't believe my eyes....600 of our finest pounds seems a tad dear even if it is wireless activated. Just read several reviews and all the testers gave it very good...
Gooday all. Can anyone recommend a rebuildable dropper post for my 2022 Trance X. Want to change out as my 2019 Trance E +2 pro that I want to sell has been waiting for the dropper gas strut since 11/21, and have been told not due in until end of June. This date continuously going backwards...
Be good to see your progress report. An update to mine is that I took my Son's bike into a Giant LBS called Cycle Revival at Heathfield / Sussex. They interrogated the bikes fault code and other data held within it and sent to Giant with my version of events. Two days later I received a message...
Spot on......the battery that is able to run both bikes is the 23PF. That seems to have the battery hardware with I imagine the year 2021. My son's bike which was bought in the summer has a prefix "date" starting 2020.......wonder if Giant can update hardware to my version. Strange that the bike...
My Son and myself have just returned from our local forest trail after a 10 mile circuit. After a mile his bike "Turned off"....We both have 2021 Trance X E 29's. Tried the usual Off/ON...reseat battery....throw it...but would not turn on. Then remembered this post about changing batteries over...
Gooday fitmac.
My 2019 Trance E+2 Pro had your problem. Bought and fitted the shim pack so hopefully will cure that fault. Had a look at my Sons 2021 Trance E 29" and his contact block is already 2-3mm off of the base block. I was going to fit a shim kit to his to prevent my problem, but looks...
