I made a choice based on what was available, the Trek Rail 9.7...expensive but love the bike. I'm 73 and couldn't do the hills on the trails I ride any longer but that is not an issue with this e-bike......lots of fun!!!
E-bikes are starting to catch on in Ontario, Canada. When councillors on municipal councils hear that the e-bikes are cut off at 32 km/h, their knee jerk reaction is to ban e-bikes from multi-use trails. I want to prepare a list of facts to present to my local council when the time comes to...
I ordered a Trek Rail 9.8XT on May 1 and today, May 4, my dealer told me that he had to refund my deposit because Trek cannot get the parts for the Rail bikes, and are not sure if there will be a 2021 or 2022 or 2023 and are not sure if there will be anymore Rail bikes period. This is of course...
Excellent! Glad to hear from a guy my size. I can't demo the 9.7 as all the shops are out of bikes and the expected delivery of the 9.7 is next February. But after hearing from you and other tall guys I will replace my order. Thanks.
Riding in the Alps must be beautiful. I read single track in forested areas with short steep climbs which I can no longer do on my regular bike. I'll compare the geometry of the trek with the tallboy more fully and not just the reach.
Thanks for replying GrandesRoues. So, is the XL too small for you? Are you sorry you bought the Trek? I considered the Kenevo but would like a 29er. The reach on my Santa Cruz Tallboy is only 6-10mm longer than the XL Trek so I'm hoping I will be ok on the Trek.
I'm 6'4.5" tall with a 35.5" inseam. I would like to buy a Rail 9.8 or 9.9 if it will be an ok fit. At my height I can't expect a perfect fit although my Santa Cruz Tallboy seems pretty good, but time for an e-bike.
Good luck with the demo, let me know how it works out. The Trek on paper says their XL is good for riders up to 6'5.2", but the reach is 473mm so that confuses me, but I'm not sure how the geometry works to size a good fit. I was thinking of the Decoy as well but would prefer the Levo if it fits.
I'm 6'5" tall and am interested in the Turbo Levo Comp e-bike, but not sure if the XL is large enough for my frame. Inseam 35/36" same with sleeve length. The Trek e-bike XL is supposed to be ok for riders a shade over 6'5" but the reach is only 473cm while the Levo is 480cm. The geometry and...
