You’re going great there, the bike’s looking great. The experience you’re gaining in doing work yourself will really pay off if you have a breakdown out on the trails.
You have done similar to me by buying an entry level bike and transforming it into something that is personable to you, and...
Probably not much help to you as I live in New Zealand but yes I really stuffed up on the tapered tube, in the end I ended up taking the old and new fork to my local supplier and he ordered a Cane Creek ZS56/40 bearing for the bottom, being Cane Creek it cost far more than I anticipated, reused...
I replaced the Suntour forks on my Sduro Hardnine with a Manitou Mattoc (120mm) boost and it has transformed the bike. The headset looked as if it was tapered but the Suntour was straight - caught me out as I hadn't anticipated so had to wait for new bearings to be delivered.
Also just fitted a...
Not a punt at all! I'm extremely jealous. IMHO Rocky Mountain make the best bikes ever and I understand their ebikes have very innovative way of design which is world leading.
I've had a couple of non-ebikes frome RM over the years and without doubt the best bikes I've ever had.
I don't consider myself a good rider, just average. But I often ride with groups and usually still riding up hills while the guys on full suspension bikes are walking. Simple physics.
And yes, the terrain we ride in New Zealand is very rugged. I'll post some photos.
If you're happy with a full...
Yep, that's about it, any other area the hard tail performs as good if not better. Simple physics will prove that there's wasted energy riding a full sus.
What do you mean by "upgrading to a full sus"? personally I'd call it a downgrade.Until I'm aged about 80 I'll continue with better handling and greater climbing ability. Downhill speed doesn't bother me.
[Rob Edit] - cleaned another thread and created this one.
Out riding yesterday and my buddy came off real bad - for some reason he says his clip on left pedal stuck. Probably because I'm not a great rider I prefer to be able to get my feet on terra firma quick. So flats all the way for me.
Great to see this Forum up and running.
I have a 2 year old Haibike Sduro Done approx 4000kMs. Just fitted new Manitou Mattoc forks and this has made a huge difference.
Love the Yamaha motor.
