After 20 years of pedaling myself I'm waiting on delivery of my first ebike, so I've had some time to ponder what my new life will be like. I'm curious about how people generally view and use overrun. I can certainly see the advantages of the motor taking over for my legs when they stop, but I...
There could be a few things:
- Binding in the bushings. To avoid knocking in the lowers the tolerances are tight, if too tight it won't be smooth. Best for a tuner to fix this.
- 2022 means it's been sitting in a box for a while. Not likely to leak oils but anything is possible. Performing the...
My thoughts are: how well did he take care of his frame, was there existing rider causing damage and it's the internet, loud minorities get amplified unrealistically because people like attention. Every and any frame can break under the right circumstances, it can happen to you and me on the...
Unless I'm misunderstanding the situation, oil inside the stanchion would almost never make its way to the outside of the stanchion.
Any oil/grease on the outside of the stanchion, I'm guessing it's appearing above the wipers, would be coming from the lowers. This is not after a service for a...
All bikes, like all vehicles and many other things in life are a depreciating asset the second you take possession of it. I think in some ways we try to convince ourselves a high ticket item like these is a good investment to justify expenditure and so we can sleep better, when in reality...
I've been able to easily seat a bead with Filmores by simply using a standard floor pump. And add sealant easily through a tube like the one Orange provides. They really seem perfect, I have no idea why people use anything else.
I believe that muc-off valve is new, it's not out of stock but rather not yet in stock. On thier site...
To me it seems overly complicated. I'd suggest the Filmore value. Amazing in its simplicity and ease of use. It's been around a while and I see little to no long term complaints.
I do stupid stuff all the time and I can't think of one good outcome to letting my fork crown hit my frame. At minimum you're probably looking at replacing your frame and fork CSU in the event of even a mild crash. Maybe sprinkle in handle bars, brake levers and rim for fun.
People tend to be heavily opinionated when it comes to brakes so I'll try to keep that out of this....
DB8's are some of the weaker SRAM brake systems. They lack the "swing link like the Code RSC and Maven have which give them substantially more leverage at the lever, equaling more power...
Is this an OE fork or did you upgrade? There's still a lot of steer tube left for the stack height. Looks to me that if it was factory cut that 10mm from the bottom wouldn't leave that much steer tube left up top.
+1 for the Boxxer. I think it compliments the Vivid perfectly. Not sure what "service" you're looking for off the bat but RS is super easy to work on for usual maintenance. If you're looking for a personal tune the few companies mentioned can help with any major brand. Fluid Focus has their own...
Good eye, I have. Without the bike in front of me it's a guess at the moment but for my preferred geometry I'd like to essentially keep the original stack height then +15mm, which may mean a new steer tube or CSU. Small price to pay to feel comfortable
The Acros AZX-260 that's likely spec'd has a plastic compression ring and is the source of problems for the many manufacturers who use their headsets. I have a Canyon (soon to have Decoy 29) and it's a known problem for them too. I'm replacing my headset out of the box.
IF that is your problem...
Hey all! New to the emtb world with the Decoy 29 I just picked up. I've been suffering pedaling up hills for waaaay too long :-) ... Unfortunately I have to wait until Oct for it to ship so I have plenty of time to buy upgrades!
I'm looking to lose the block lock too, found this 15mm bottom cup...
