Make sure the speed sensor doesn’t have too big of a gap between rotor magnet and sensor. An easy way to check this is open the app and ride the bike. You should see speed and cadence work.
If the app doesn’t show the motor assisting you while in there, that is also a sign that the motor is bad.
**Heckler SL UPDATE**
Did an evil ride that is 18 miles with 4000 vertical feet of climbing. The Heckler SL came into the parking lot with 20% left on the battery after riding in the trail or river setting with multiple trips into boost or rocket modes.
Then at 498 miles the motor crapped...
Get a spoke ruler. Straighten the spoke pieces to your best ability and put the pieces on the spoke ruler. You will get pretty close — within a mm or 2. Spoke sizes can vary on every side of the hub dependent upon the lacing pattern and rim hole locations (straight or staggered). If the rims are...
I have owned and ridden both. The Levo SL is the OG light eBike in my opinion. It climbs exceptionally, descends really well, and just has an overall fit and finish that I love. The Heckler SL is not lacking in the fit and finish department either. I got my Levo SL down to around 36 pounds in...
The Fazua crushes the EX-e. I had an EX-e prior to my Heckler SL and just gotta say that the Heckler is one of the best bikes that I have owned to date. The Fazua climbs everything that I throw at it, has an amazing range, and handles like no other bike that I have ever owned. I literally have...
I took mine off 2000 miles ago and haven’t had any problems. The new chainrings are designed to hold on to the chain, which makes me question the chain guide altogether. I feel like chain guides are the “lawyer tabs” of the 2020s’.
I feel like this bike is a sideways move for Orbea.
I get that they are trying to give the rider a full-powered e-bike in a lightweight package, but I bet that a new Rise LT with the 630Wh battery and the coil shock in a size large comes really close to 50 pounds (full powered e-bike weight...
I am 6-2 and ride a Large Rise. It fits me really well. I do typically run a shorter stem on most bikes because I have way longer legs than torso, but still have zero complaints about the Rise's geo and fitment. Happy to answer any specifics that you may have, LMK.
This is my 2023 Trek Fuel Exe. Did a crazy bunch of additions to it. Fox 36 160mm, X2 rear shock, XTR brakes, Hope Rotors, Cane Creek Electric Wings, I9 TR 300/290 wheelset, replaced EVERY bolt with ti (including the motor mount bolts--custom machined), and the front chainring with a custom Wolf...
Just received 1 of 2 Heckler SLs, so only have a few rides on it. It’s quieter than my Trek EXe and has way more power than my Orbea Rise—on the easy climbs where we have compared them side by side. Still just running the stock tuning modes, but that will probably change when I get on the bigger...
Shimano has patented a new motor system that is “dubbed” for road and gravel biking. Read: Shimano Might Be Developing a Lighter, More Compact e-Bike System for Road & Gravel
