Levo Gen 3 New brakes... What does everyone run?

I run Shimano XTR with Hope rotors. This gives me the stopping power with a bit more modulation. I used to run the entire Hope package but felt like the Hope E4s required a bit more grip strength. Love the adjustability of the Hopes though. Haven’t tried their latest version of the brake yet. I...

    Eco sucks!

Eco mode is just there for manufacturers to market their bikes, “as the longest range in its class or most vertical conquered”. It’s like weighing a small or a medium frame and saying it’s the lightest when they have XL and XXL frame sizes as well. And since the bike industry is run by skids...

Fuel EXe Thoughts on a Fuel EXE when I have a Rail ?

I have both the Rise and an EX-e. They are kited with the same top end components - XTR on the Rise and SRAM Transmission XX on the EX-e. I will tell you straight up the Trek has dust on it and the Rise is covered in mud. My personal pros and cons of each… Trek Fuel EX-e: - descends better...

Fuel EXe Rear wheel won't spin freely after upgrade to SRAM GX T-type transmission?

It’s hard to diagnose without really seeing the details of the bike. I will say that my Fuel EX-e does not back-pedal like that. Spinning the crank in reverse with the motor on or off just has the crank spinning not the transmission assembly. So maybe the problem lies in the motor/front...

2024 Orbea Rise - new colors/builds or all new?

It's going to be completely re-designed and probably not going to have a Shimano package attached to it. Just my educated guess. ;)

Moving from 2 bike setup (enduro + e-enduro) to single setup (light e-mtb)

I did exactly what you are thinking about and now have 2 e-Bikes! One just wasn’t enough. 🤦🏻 both are lightweight bikes—Trek EX-e and Orbea Rise LTD. E-MTBs are banned on probably half the trails here in the U.S., but screw that, I just ride the Trek on those and the Orbea on the others. The...

Dork disc. To remove or not remove.....that is the question.

Remove! Just keep you derailleur adjusted properly and you will never have an issue.

Specialized Turbo SL for 3.5k brand new or Second Hand Trek EXE

The other side has chain stay protection top and bottom so it makes sense being only on the non-drive side. Carbon frame repairs typically ruin the paint and need to be repainted entirely so you wouldn't see any edge lines. Check out this repair page for Don's... Carbon Fiber Bike Frame Repair -...

That just looks like it has a clear frame protector on it to me.

50lbs vs 53lbs bike — will it be noticeable?

Going serious now... I feel like dropping weight on a bike is very personal thing. I have been riding for 35+ years and I definitely feel every gram and every dial of suspension setting. My wife has been riding for 25 years, raced professionally, doesn't care and notices nothing that I do to...

50lbs vs 53lbs bike — will it be noticeable?

OR ride more and buy a lightweight e-bike and you will feel like 🦸‍♂️. Riding a 50 pounder just makes me want to go ride my dirt bike.🏍️

SRAM Transmission - GX vs XO

For that small of a difference go XO. I had an early GX AXS bike and there definitely was a difference in quality there.

    2023 EP8 rattle

I have a 2022 Orbed Rise LTD and it drives me nuts with the rattle. This is the second gen Shimano motor. I believe the 23 Rise now runs the third generation.

Specialized Turbo SL for 3.5k brand new or Second Hand Trek EXE

Everything that Ribinrobin is on point. I can add to the ride of the Trek EX-e. I have been on one all summer. I have to say that it is one of the best riding bikes that I have ever slung a leg over. It descends amazingly over small and large tech sections and it even excels in the bike park...

Would like peoples opinions on the damage to my new bike.

I have seen damages to bikes like that after decades of working and managing shops. That only happens when outside forces are involved. Ie., a car backed into it, ran over it or was on a roof rack and smacked into a garage door etc. I would return it and get something different. I personally...

Specialized Levo - Why So Popular?

My first e-bike was the Levo SL. I still love that bike even though I no longer own it. I think at the time Specialized was leading the trend of working with a manufacturer to integrate the e-system pretty amazingly into the traditional MTB. A LOT of bike companies have since followed and I...

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe range extender

Just a little more info… you can charge the internal battery with the bike charger externally as well. So you are only swapping a dead one for a charged one while riding.

Hello... just joined and thinking about my first EMTB

I had a Levo as my first bike. I still think it was an awesome bike. I would go with the cheapest carbon version if you can afford it instead of aluminum. The carbon frame is the same throughout the lineup just different components. Never had a single issue with that bike in the 1000 miles that...

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe range extender

Just a thought for anyone waiting for the range extender like me… I have one on order. It’s been so long, and Treks forecast is now saying November for delivery, that I went with a second battery. On long rides it’s a simple swap by removing 2 bolts and disconnecting the cord. Literally takes me...
