I can't say yet if it improved my fitness since I got my first ebike only 2 months ago.
But I can say for sure that I hop on the bike way more often than the years before.
Because of lite asthma I was always exhausted pretty fast. I couldn't drive big altitude with higher heart rates without...
Have done my first bigger ride today.
50km distance and 1100m of altitude. Came to my destination with <10% and had to be very economical with power in the end.
I really liked the bike for this route. It's probably not the best bike for longer All-Mountain trips. But it felt very natural all the...
I also carry the phone and keys in my pocket. I don't realize it while biking but I'm pretty sure it's a bad spot to carry those things in case of a crash...
My dealer offered me to do that but I wanted to try it stock first.
I'm not sure if 25 km/h -> 27 km/h feels like a big difference. But I will try this first before going the Levociraptor way.
Got my first gen Levo SL Comp alloy yesterday. Did a spontanous ride without tracking, maybe 20km.
Positives:
- Motor sound isn't as annoying as I thought it would be (yet?)
- The alloy frame looks better IRL as on pictures. Great color, great workmanship
- Motor support is enough. I planned to...
I could even imagine Specialized moving away from Brose with the next gen of Levo. There were lots of quality issues that wont't fit to the standard of the brand in my opinion. If you watch the new Levo SL YouTube reviews lots of discussions in the comment section are sth like "but did they fix...
If I remember correctly, some tests showed that the old Mahle had 42nm instead of 35. And other tested motors had a bit less torque than advertised. My dealer who already rode the new bike also told me that he felt maybe 10% more power.
The real improvement won't be as big as you would assume...
I wouldn't be so sure about that.
It's not that everyone could "hack" the TCU. If it was that easy there wouldn't be products like Levociraptor but custom firmwares to flash.
And I don't think that an interposed hardware piece will work for the new motor conversion with your old TCU. So Spech...
You are right, a bike most probably get scratched anyway. As well as a car gets rock chips after some time on the streets.
But that doesn't mean someone should accept this bad of a quality when they buy an expensive new product.
It hurts way less when your bike gets scratches because you are...
I'm very excited on any opinion of 29/29 setup. Sounds like the best option for me too. Just ordered the old alloy Levo, but could see myself switching to the new one if it rides similar without mullet.
I agree that it brings the bike closer to the KSL and other bikes in their product range.
The new flexibility is a great upgrade. But I would have prefered when it still was stock 29"/29".
I'm pretty sure we will see the option to order it with 29 in front and back soon.
With all the geo change...
I'll be honest with you. I have seen many Rob Rides EMTB Videos in the last months. And I have spent many of hours in this forum the last weeks. But I just realized that this is appaerently the forum of this guy?! :D
In Germany the comp will be 7.500€ my dealer told me. The motor is quieter for sure, but not "whisper quiet" as advertised.
It also is stronger, but it would not feel like 15nm stronger. More like up to 10nm. I will be getting an old Levo SL alloy now, but will test ride the new one for sure...
Mahle is building great engines. I'm pretty sure the 1.2 motor will be better in every aspect.
I like this salmon color way more on those live pictures than on the product images. I think I need this bike...with 29"/29" and steep steering angle.
I also like that they haven't changed the concept too much. With the available geo change options you can come close to first gen Levo SL, which felt very good to me on a test ride.
The geo chart I posted earlier came from a sell sheet that I found on spech website.
So the source should be reliable but I agree that some numbers seem to be off.
I'm pretty sure there were some hardware changes to archieve the lower noise and higher power output.
Even though the mounting points seem quite identical, so I would imagine it will be possible to mount the new motor to the old bikes. But then we have the problem, that the bikes MCU firmware...
