The mullet runs well. I lowered the front travel to 150mm (it was 160mm with 27.5") so it didn't slack out too much.
Yes, try 29" first. See if it's comfortable for her. I think a 125mm dropper would be suitable.
This is what I posted many pages ago. It's with 27.5" wheelset. So I think just add around 20mm to the measurment for 29"

The latest version is v2.2.0 Nov 2023. I suspect this is the version causing problems.
Maybe try previous versions 2.1.0 or 2.0.1
