I see that everything boils down to how many miles the motor lasts, because it is the single most expensive piece of the e-Mtb. Everything else is replaceable. All mechanical parts. Even frame. Battery for sure. At the end of the day, you can replace also the engine. So no such a thing as total...
I have been riding 7,326 km with Canyon Spectral:ON and Shimano E8000 engine with regular maintenance. The bike has been performing well. Any experience, what is the expected lifetime milage of such a bike. Should I expect a dead engine 10, 15, or 20 K? Or can it last 20k, 30K as long it's...
I think there are three different questions.
Should you obey blindly the rules, even if they don't make sense? I know this is a difficult question, and many think that it shouldn't be a question.
What would be the right speed to regulate as the max if any? In the US it's about 32 km/h and in...
I do most of the e-bike batteries charging using solar. Feels green and it's a kind of argument to justify solar panel system investment for my caravan. There are fixed 2x120 W solar panels, a controller, a 140 Ah deep cycle battery, and a 600W inverter in the system. That's enough to charge 1...
I found that 25 km/h is too slow and boring when approaching my trails on asphalt, and on faster forest trails I have better flow with up to 32 km/h. Which is totally enough for me. More fun, never looked back to 25 km/h. Ease of derestricting would be an important criteria when buying a new...
Have 7.0, like it. Currently above 3200 km, 4th chain, second cassette, back brake pads changed. So far so good. I like the external battery as it's small and its easy to carry spare one in backpack for longer rides. My bike is size M. For next bike I would look for next generation technologies...

I bought a bike repair stand and a few tools. So basics can be done in-house, like cleaning, adjustments, changing the chain, repairing tires, changing brake pads, filling sealant, etc. Shock maintenance though should be left to a special shop, just got 50 h shock maintenance done in a FOX...
That's my solution with Thule racks. The bike goes up without the battery and small chair is needed to lift it up straight. I use plastic to cover battery contacts. The bike without battery weights 20kg so just in the limit of the rack maximum allowed carrying weight.
Yes, localization, Bluetooth, instructions, pairing, E-tube, pin-check - all done. It actually finds the bike sce7000 and starts connecting up to 6% and then comes notification that connection got interrupted. All times. So, still having difficult times to get the app working.
