I have a switch grade, I got it as was wanting a longer dropper but 150-170 as my frame would not give me much more anyway, so thought, sod it I’ll get one of these - it’s going to be compatible with the new longer dropper if I get one anyway. I’m blown away. Firstly I got the extra room I need...
Still on my ‘18 e sommet. It’s the same frame and motor, and steam, but that’s just about it. I love it. I still think it’s the best eeb I have ridden and so much lighter than stuff like Whyte etc. I am very interested in having a go on one of the new fatua 60 motors as seem similar ish to the...
The reason for a carbon bike is principally to save a few grams. On an ebike this is offset by the motor, so for me the advantage of an alloy frame having a less catastrophic mode of failure is more important than saving weight. Does that clarify my position to you?
Ok cool always interested in other options. My experience is that keeping weight off the bike improves the ride. Not a massive fan of backpacks but do like my new fanny pack!
Not sure if agree that loading up the bike makes for a better ride. Gary : Definitely agree that the capability of old e sommet is phenomenal. Flickable, pointable jumpable, fast. Lush!
It’s 22 kg. I do t keep tools or anything else on the bike as these are better in a bag or pocket on your person. Have tried a few different newer bikes and they all seem a bit blunt. The bike handles really really well. To me it seems 22 kg is where the weight starts to become really...
I know it’s going to sound daft but having tried a few I still think my original e sommet is fantastically capable and at 22kg just on the right side of the weight barrier. Think they have gone backwards with the 25kg monsters.
