I have a set of Deity bars with 50mm rise. I think I am going to be changing them though because I believe the backsweep (9deg) is causing my hands and wrists to hurt. I’m going to be trying a flatter bar with less backsweep to see if that helps.
One of the things you brought up is a very valid point. Most of the kids run due to the increased enforcement so then a “pursuit” occurs. Many of the kids (not all but many) are not very skilled at riding a bike (anctukky an motorcycle) and end up crashing. A similar incident occurred in my...
I’m a deputy sheriff in SoCal. The new laws and regs are intended to target Surrons and other similar bikes. Pedal assist e-bikes aren’t the intended target. I have not seen nor heard of any pedal assisted e-bikes being targeted by any law enforcement officers. The groups of kids on Surrons that...
I’m still on a three week roadtrip with my family. It was 33 degrees and snowing in Mount Shasta, Ca today so it seemed like perfect weather to go on a ride. 17 miles later and I can say that the trails here are amazing. Great traction other than the occasional patch or ice or frozen pine needles
I am on a road trip with my family from California to Montana and was able to get a good ride in when I was in the Saint George, Utah area. Ended up doing just about 19 miles. It was only 1,300 feet of elevation climbing so fairly flat. Probably some of my favorite cross country riding that I...
I have the Yamaha motor on my Giant Reign and like it a lot. It may not be the powerhouse that the Bosch is but it’s been getting me up the hills pretty damn good. My only complaint is the constant software updates. Although I believe that is a Giant issue and not a yahama issue.
Normally I do all my own maintenance but this time I decided to have a shop do it. New tires front and rear. Did a fork and shock rebuild, cleaned and lubed all pivots and replaced bearings / seals where needed. Cleaned and lubed drivetrain. Brake bleed and cylinders cleaned. New derailleur...
Weight position on steep stuff is different for each feature obviously but I prefer a mullet set up personally. I’m not short (6’1”) but I like having the clearance for when I need to get back over the rear of the bike. I also like how mullets handle better than a full 29er.
I have a MTB work stand but I also build another stand. I’m a moto guy at heard so I built this. Holds it up nicely and allows me to spin the rear wheel to do chain lube.
I tend to ride two ways. One way is when I’m riding on my own I ride fast and try to beat my personal times. It reminds me of when I used to race dirt bikes and gives me the reason to push myself. The other way is when I’m riding with a group or with my dad. On those rides I enjoy the ride and...
So I did the latest update this morning with the hopes that it will fix the charging issue (again). I went and did a ride and the battery life is HORRIBLE. I started with a completely topped off battery ran the battery out in 12.44 miles with 2,573’ of elevation gain. This is my regular loop...
I am having the same charging issues after the latest update as well. I don’t understand how giant can send these updates out without realizing that they cause an issue. It’s extremely frustrating. It ruined my ride the other day because I had a 25 ish mile ride planned but I wasn’t able to do...
Went for a quick run down some of the local downhill trails today. Found a step down double with a totally blind takeoff. Jump carries about 10-12 feet distance with about 3 or 4 feet of drop. Super fun
