Hi Henno,
My original tutorial won't work with that firmware version. That said, I don't expect there's any changes needed to the code, it'd just be the magnet design that needs updating to match the later firmware requirements. Yes you could try the two coils, or otherwise see what inspiration...
Has anyone seen any commentary around placement of a Gen5 CX in a Gen4 CX mount?
I took the below snip from a video on the Gen 5. It actually looks to be a gen4 motor with a pair of mounts to bolted on to suit the gen5 two-bolt profile?
Full video here. There's no comment on the mount...
Ouch, at least we don't have to wonder now.
PS I'd be keen on buying a spare silver/unpainted Voima swingarm, just in case... Can someone please vote for me? I don't have facebook :)
Yes I'll try removing those spacers and compensating with pressure to see how it goes.
I think you're right on the 190mm. I do ask a lot in the range of riding on voima, with silly technical climbing, fire trails, and natural downhill. My other bike with a Fox X2 doesn't seem to suffer in the...
It's a good thought, and higher pressure definitely helps with the mid support, but it puts me way below desired sag, to the point where smaller impacts barely trigger a response.
Trailhead suggests 149psi, though this does push up to 165 with 'E-Bike' checked:
I'm having trouble getting my Super Deluxe to a balanced point that suits the riding I do on my Voima (190mm). It's a RS-SDLX-ULT-B2, so it's only got LSC and Rebound adjustments.
@30% sag, impacts feel quite harsh despite not using all travel. Seems like its blowing through mid stroke and...
Yes I think you're on the right track with this. I'd built up a three axis coil for the reasons you state above, but it was wound in a continuous strand so it wouldn't be possible to fire in sequence or with different power levels.
Again yes correct, you can use the second channel of the L9110...
Hey Sander, ha that's outstanding. Did the motor that's being replaced have the megabobra running on it?
Do you mean switch from Rim to Rotor magnet? If so, yes I think that's safest. BUT let me send you a PM ;)
So if you're running rim magnet, the megabobra is confirmed working up to ~v5 on the motor firmware. After that point there hasn't been much luck.
If you're running rotor magnet, it should work regardless of firmware version.
Interesting. The headset cups are 24months/3500km old. I replaced the original 40series bearings with a Hellbender set after 12months. Those bearings still look and feel fine.
As far as the cockpit noise goes, there are really two. The first I believe is the CSU on the zeb. This is a louder...
I've been tracking done some creak that's coming from the cockpit. Stripped down the stem/spacers/headset for a clean and found the bearings needed replacing. Stuck in a pair of Hellbender 70 bearings in but found that the headset cups are showing some wear. There's some scoring most of the way...
Ahh ok gotcha. So the one I want to test is for is the rim magnet. For the rotor magnet, I'm pretty confident the existing megaboba tutorial will work - you should just position the electromagnet on the speed sensor rather than on the motor!
