I finally got around to editing up this bit of footage of an encounter with dirt bike riders (while on my Levo). It was a real-world encounter and quite entertaining.
Yep, I'm trying to spend a lot of time on bikes of any variety this year; it keeps me sane. I've been lurking here and keeping up with E-bike stuff . . . I love the things.
Just an update, I have got back to my channel after a long sojourn. I had a few injuries last year and also lost my dad . . . kinda lost my drive to make any videos etc.
I am carrying a dodgy ankle from a stack at Derby in Tasmania (on a MTB), so the latest videos I am producing are moto...
I'm still alive! :)
Just got back from a ride in the Grampians - my Levo is going strong and I'm getting out every week. I've just stopped vlogging and posting much on social media . . . I found the effort to film etc etc (while fun) detracted from my own experience, so now I leave the action...
I'm considering a set of Eliminators (2.6) as they are now available here in Australia. Bit better rolling than the Butcher 2.8's but still really good for our conditions over summer. Just hoping that bottom bracket height isn't reduced too much.
Yipes, I think I'll miss this 'upgrade'. Two sticks in the mud for me are :
1 : Battery size. Yes, it's a larger capacity, but it is 645mm LOOOOOOOONG, essentially making this new battery impossible to carry. The 2018 battery was about at the limit of what you could fit in a backpack. I'll take...
That's your chain masterlink - it looks fine to me. You will need to adjust your B tension screw; your LBS would have likely used the same stock chain when they did the 36T change - which is fine - but you need to remove the [slighly] increased chain tension with the mech B tension screw to get...
You don't need the bike shop to check the firmware - you can do it on the Mission Control application. Take a screenshot and post it here and I'll let you know; if you're unsure how to interpret it.
Awww man this looks like a fun meetup!!! I"m in the wrong bloody country. I WILL be over in the UK for at least a month or two next summer though (my partner is English). Big smiles on all your faces and the weather over there looks pretty sweet. Big thumbs up :)
Hey Paolo - very good question and I'm interested in this too. I've got very addicted to my uncorked Levo, I'm not sure if I could give that up...:devilish:
Well, from what I see leaked here on the 2019 Levo, the changes seem evolutionary rather than revolutionary, and won't be enough for me to consider an upgrade. I have my 2018 Expert set up just where I like it, and I actually love the damn thing. I think I'll hang onto it for a while.
The...
I wonder if the API will be locked down on this new model . . . ? Will 3rd party developers be able to fiddle with and create new software? Will unlocking be as simple in the future?
Hey VaseLEVO,
Thanks heaps for your kind words - I'm glad that I'm an inspiration *blush* I just muck about and have fun and make some videos of my adventure. It's been fun doing these little installation videos . . . and passing on a bit of know-how to interested folks.
Per the tools...
I have de-restricted my bike [Brose motor], as has my partner [Shimano motor]. It's only really of benefit when doing transport sections to the riding areas, but this is reason enough I feel.
You can try it out and then reverse the de-restriction at your leisure. As mentioned above, pop into...
Yep, I've seen as high 760-ish watts output. This is from both batteries I have and there is a very long thread on this very subject over on Specialized - Levo Software X.23/5.0.4 (+ MC-App 1.2) ab 06/18 - rätselhafte 580W Schwachmotoren
The summary of the thread is that some bikes are seeing...
Hey Pendo . . . you're absolutely right, it is bloody amazing. I rode the Blue Tier > Atlas > Krushka's in one day this February. My partner and I rented Merida E120's for the ride and it was probably the best day I've had in my life on a mountain bike. I am planning on going back later this...
