I was looking to upgrade from the stock Code RSC and as a last chance attempt I put on 220 Magura rotors. Helped significantly, but I still wanted a bit more. Went to MTX gold pads and that did the trick. Saved me the cost and effort of swapping.
When it came time to replace the Magura rotors...
I was able to make the stock code brakes work by going with Magura 220mm rotors front and back. I also changed to MTX gold pads which work great, even wet. The only downside to the huge two piece rotors is they get bent really easy. I finally got tired of dealing with it and went with the new...
I’m close to your #3 and it’s crazy fun. Started as a Levo Pro, but after 2 shock rebuilds in 6 months I put on the 11.6 and it took a great bike to the next level. Save some change for minor brake upgrades (rotors/pads) and you should be set.
They get noisier as they get closer to failure. Had the power issue you are talking about on both motors. I’ve always thought it was a sensor issue too as my input watts seem incorrect when it’s happening ( I have power meters on regular bikes too so I’ve got a good idea of what I’m putting...
Yes, but that’s where it needs to be for everything to line up. It does limit the adjustment on the caliper as the pads wear. That’s where the clearance just makes it. On the old setup I didn’t care much if I had a lazy piston, but in this one I have make sure they are all working the same.
I’m running 220 MDR front and back on an S3 with no issues. Using them with the stock code brakes that came with my build and those rotors were enough to keep me from having to buy a new brake system. I have codes on all my other bikes but they weren’t cutting it on the levo until the rotor upgrade.
Motor failed on my gen 3 levo pro last Saturday. It’s under warranty, Specialized was quick to authorize the repair, and LBS should have it ready by Tuesday. I was hoping the motor reliability issues were fixed but guess not. About 3800 miles and 850,000’ of climbing on it.
At least the repair...
For me, the most useful feature of the Mastermind TCU is the mirco-tune. I'm surprised by how much I use that, especially when riding with people not on e-bikes. Second favorite, would be battery % instead of just bars. The others, like GPS data, I don't even use since a Wahoo/Garmin works...
Anything happen if you hold the power button? I've had a couple times where a piece of grit kept the battery plug to the motor from making a connection. Felt fine, but if I held the power button I got the no battery error. Cleaned it up, and it was all good.
SRAM 40mm post mount adapter. Same part as listed in this post, but ordered from JensonUSA or Competitive Cyclist (can't remember which). That said, I don't know what the YT Decoy frame is built for. If it's 180 front and rear, then same parts.
I kept the SRAM Code RSC brakes, but put on Magura 220mm rotors (front and back). They are thicker and the bigger diameter did the trick. Happy with the brakes now and didn't have to spend much.
I don't have the 2021, but I can give you a data point on the 2022. I have the Levo Pro, so same frame. Delivered in March 2021, and I have 2300+ miles and 500k'+ climbing. No issues from Specialized. Had issues with the Fox shock (DPX2) and finally just replaced with a Push 11.6. Bike was...
